MEMORIALS: I am more than happy to transfer any memorials, there is no necessity for it to be a certain number of generations. If they are in your family, just ask and the transfer will come.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Please feel free to add any photographs you want in order to enhance any memorial. They are greatly appreciated.

EDITS: Please use the edit button to make any changes necessary. If it is a person in your family though, just ask for a transfer and you can make the changes that you feel are needed.

RESPECT: Please treat myself and others with the respect that our loved ones would expect from us. None of us OWN these memorials and we should be working together to make it what it is: A memorial to a passed loved one.

INFORMATION TO SHARE: Anything that I have posted is free to be used in any site you please. I have put it here for it to be used and shared. I would just ask that you list me as the source. If not, I will just take it as an oversight on your part, and be delighted to see it being used.

Memorial 45785187
Per the relative: Samuel Henry Jacob Heffner is buried at Alsace Lutheran in Berks. He married Agnes Amanda Heffner buried there also. They are not related. The family bible says the family name was Hoepner. It morphed into Heffner.

Samuel #45785187 I am not familiar with this one.

np:) The relative that contacted me is a great grand daughter of Samuel & Emma Morrier Heffner. I'll let you know. My Heffner relation comes into play when a William R Heffner married a 3d Great Aunt of mine (Christiana Fisher).

RE: James Bonday
Thank you so much for replying. I have been to Oak Lawn and took pictures of three Bonday graves, and worked for hours to start the cleaning process. Will return when the weather is nicer to continue. Oak Lawn told me they have no responsibility for the Old Methodist Cemetery; they have a file given to them by the Maryland Historical Society in 1961, but will not allow me to look at the contents. I spent yesterday at the MD Historical Society and found a folio containing information about the removal of hundreds of graves from the Methodist Cemestery on Philadelphia Rd to Oak Lawn, with Oak Lawn responsible for the gravesites! The document indicates that hundreds of graves were moved to Oak Lawn in 1935, but we found only about 15 or so when we visited, most of which have sunk and information is unreadable. On the lists in the folio at MDHS I found one of interest, listed as Bondy, but Oak Lawn says their records do not include a Bondy or Bonday. But the document I found proves they are wrong, plus I have seen the three gravesites there. I will check with Pratt Library, and also Lovely Lane Methodist Museum as well. My quest is to find the birth date of the earliest James Bonday, who came to the US from England in 1802. We can't read the inscription on the tombstone. Thank you again for your help. It is greatly appreciated! Binnie Bailey

RE: William H Hopkins
Yes, I'm the 2nd Great Grandson of John T Hopkins (Abt 1859-1926). I guessed that he was the son of William H and Virginia Hopkins because they were married in Baltimore in 1855, but now that I know they're not buried close to each other I'm less confident about that guess.

There are a few Hopkins' I'm sure are my ancestors that I don't have death dates for:

Jennie C (Kemp) Hopkins born 1879, married Howard
Brice G Hopkins born 1892
And most importantly, my Great Grandmother Anna B (Watts) Hopkins born about 1890 and died 1964 according to my father. She was married to Ed Watts. They must both be buried in Baltimore but I have no idea where.

Ed Watts was born Edward Emil Jablonowsky, named after his father Emil Jablonowsky. I would love to know where the elder of the two is buried, although I know they lived in Harford for some time so he and his wife Annie might not be buried in Baltimore. She was born in 1869 and that's pretty much all I know about them.
