Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired landscape designer. My children have left home and are having children of their own. My husband and I have traveled to some graveyards and I've enjoyed taking pictures of my family members grave markers. I've been so excited to find pictures of my ancestors graves on the internet that I'm willing to take some pictures for other people. I am going to limit the picture taking to Johnson County and West Branch so that I don't get overwhelmed.

Coldren at Oakland Cemetery
Hi Marcia! When you took the photo of Phila Coldren's grave (#65388091) at Oakland Cemetery, did you happen to take a photo of the two stones next to hers? One is her husband, the other her daughter. I was out there today and Phila's and her husband's were almost illegible because of lichens. So glad you got a readable photo of Phila's! Someone requested her daughter's (#90496152) and I posted a photo, but if you have a better one, please post it. Thank you!

Marcia, you didn't mess up. Sometimes the memorials don't go through correctly and one ends up with two. I can't delete yours as they are yours. Just delete the one without the picture and it will be fine. You did someone a favor putting it up. None of us are experts, I get duplicates also. It's very cool to be able to help others this way, don't ya think?

Wonderful Photos
Thank you so much for the photos that you took of Francis,Catherine and John's monuments.

The condition of John's brought tears to my eyes, but at least the parts were there.

Thanks for being my angel on this.

Thank you so much for looking for their headstones. Guess I better do a little more homework on the family and find out where they are REALLY buried. Thanks again, Carol

RE: Boberich
Thank you so much for looking. I am related to all the Boberich's in that cemetery. Pretty close in the family line also. The one photo I dont have is John. When I called they game me a location for him in block 30 lot 31. That is sad that there may not be a marker for him and therefore "lost". Thank you for looking into this for me. Thanks to kind people like yourself I am filling in my family tree!!

Thank you for the picture. That's quite a monument. He is my great great uncle. I'm hoping to find some relatives doing this.

Thanks again.

Marcia - Thanks for the tombstone photos of my Gr. Gr. Gr. Grandparents who came to Iowa City from Coshocton Co., OH ca 1848. I could never find the tombstone. Thanks much!

Great work in Oakland Cemetery! I am also a volunteer, and I took a few more photos there today. I didn't find the Love graves in Block 3, but had to laugh when I realized I was "looking for Love" in the cemetery.
