Bio and Links
Bio Photo I primarily cover cemeteries in Hampshire and Franklin Counties, though I have also done extensive work in and around Boston.

My focus is on pre-1800 stones, Revolutionary War veterans and Civil War veterans. I also snap any Dickinsons I come across, since those Dickinsons seem to be really into this.

MY PHOTOGRAPHS MAY NOT BE RE-POSTED OR REPRODUCED ON THIS SITE, ANY OTHER WEBSITE, OR IN ANY OTHER FORM OF MEDIA WITHOUT MY EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION!

PER FIND A GRAVE'S POLICY, PLEASE NOTE THAT "TRANSFER REQUESTS SHOULD BE FOR DIRECT RELATIVES WITHIN FOUR GENERATIONS, THIS WOULD BE YOUR SIBLINGS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND GREAT-GRANDPARENTS."

I don't mind being contacted with a specific question about one individual, but please don't contact me with open-ended questions about an entire family line. I receive an average of two such emails per week, and since I have a busy work life, I simply do not have the time to type out entire branches of my family tree over and over. Please refer to rootsweb.com and/or ancestry.com which is where I got most if not all of the information. I HAVE NOT POSTED AND WILL NEVER POST MY OWN FAMILY'S PERSONAL TREE ON THE INTERNET, SO THERE IS NO MAGIC LINK TO A MASTER FAMILY TREE THAT I CAN PROVIDE.

Wife of William Tompson and mother of some of his children
I think this note should be part of the Find A Grave entries for #82475840 and 82475908 which would also effect the name of their mother.

NOTE: Until reading the well documented book, "Veazie Genealogy, Some descendants of William Veazie Who Settled at Braintree, Massachusetts in 1640" by Ralph E. Hillman, CG, I had Abigail Collins as the wife of William Tompson. I'm now correcting his wife to Abigail Skellecorne, and the author's well documented sources are shown below

"Veazie Genealogy"
by Ralph E. Hillman, CG

Page 13

"William Veazie (Richard) was born about 1616 in England...He married, probably at Braintree about 1643, Elinor Tompson...the daughter of William Tompson and his wife Abigail Skellecorne. (24) Elinor died 23 April 1711 at Braintree, Massachusetts...

Rev. William Tompson,'Register, 15 (Apr 1861):112-116, which provides a brief genealogy of the first settled minister of Braintree and names his children. Chase does not know Abigail's surname. That her Christian name was Abigail is certain from Braintree records...which gives the death of 'Abigail the wife of Mr. William Tompson' as Feb 1642/3. She is first provided with a surname by Winifred Lovering Holman. 'English Connections of Deacon Edward Collins of Cambridge, Mass.,' Register', 89 (Jan 1935):73-79, which states that Abigail Collins, daughter of John Collins of Bramford, co. Suffolk, married Samuel Bedle and then William Tompson. This statement was later taken up by others, including Weis and Sprague, but Holman later corrected her earlier Collins article in 'The Ancestry of Edward Collins and Bedle-Bowles-Powell Connections in England,' The American Genealogist, 23 (1947):149-153, eliminating the marriage of Abigail to William Thomson. It remained for Ralph J. Coffman and Mary F. Rhinelander to come up with the apparent correct surname when they discovered a document in the handwriting of William Thomson at the John Rylands University Library of Manchester, England in June 1984 which states that he married a Skellecorne: 'The testament of Richard mather and William Thompson: A New Historical and Genealogical Docujment of the Great Migration, 'Register, 140 (Jan 1986):3-16..."

Dear Moo,
I would be honored to have your photographs of the Hollister family tombstones on their corresponding files in ancestry.com. I am referring to Find a Grave #'s #17317349, 173173350, 17317355, and the like. I ALWAYS STATE THE PHOTO CREDIT for all pictures. Being that this is a strictly personal need, I ask your permission to use them. If you are particular about the credit citation, kindly let me know what you would like for me to post. Thank you very much. I appreciate the contributions you have made! Marjorie.

Thomas Prentice 1676-1709
Your data on this Thomas Prentice in East Parish Burying Ground is not totally correct. This Thomas 1676-1709 is unknown to me and is not the son of Thomas Prentice 1649/50-1685 and Sarah Stanton which is my direct line. Elizabeth Jackson was the wife of their son, Thomas Prentice 1676-1730, and grandson of Thomas 1620-1709 and Grace Bull. The confusion of the Thomas Prentices in this cemetery has created several mistakes on entries by the contributors. I hope you will change the information. Thank you, Judy

John Barnicoat - No. 13409912
You have posted a wonderful picture of the gravestone of John Barnicoat in Copps Hill Burying Ground in Boston. There appears to be a small gravestone next to his. Is there any chance you might have an uncropped copy of that photo that would show the name on that smaller stone. I believe it may be Charlotte Louise Barnicoat who died in Boston in 1823 at the age of 17 months and, according to one record, is buried in Copps Hill. She would have been a granddaughter of John.
