|Bio and Links|
Born in North Carolina, but have also lived in New York, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Washington DC, and South Carolina. Graveyards and tombstones have always been a curiosity to me, and I always wanted to know something about the people buried there. I was a data entry operator for many years, also a history and genealogy addict. Since being retired, I've put those things to use to help make sure that people (and pets) that I put into Find A Grave are more than just names on a tombstone. |
Since Ancestry owns this site now and since the EXACT places of some of our ancestors will never be known for sure---like those who were buried on their own property and/or have simple field stones for markers---I believe that those people also deserve to be remembered and connected to their families. So I will gladly connect the "unknowns" since they are just as important links as those we do know about. It does help to know the dates, and a probable location if possible--like "on their own property" for instance.
I would like to add that I do try to cooperate with everyone, and am happy to do so, but expect to be spoken to with decency and respect when being asked to make any type of change. (As I've come across a few people that were downright pushy and rude). Advice to nasty people---"let sleeping dogs lie".

|Keith Redmon||John Wesley Petree|
Thank for your help anyway. I see that you are already aware of the John Wesley Petree buried at Corinth in Stokes Co.
I do a little research myself. I am descended from the Petree line.
Would you happen to know who John Wesley Petree's father was?
|Eternity||RE: Leonia Wells McMillan|
Thank you for correcting the information for Leonia Wells McMillan. I believe Leonia was the younger half-sister of my 5th great-grandmother, Julia Wells Underwood.

Hi. I notice that you have posted a photograph of James Fuller Yates when he was a young man. I am wondering if you are a member of his family. I just recently discovered that his first wife, Helen Smith Yates, who died in 1929, was my grandmother's cousin, and was the daughter of Sam D. and Grace Garland Smith. We are desperately trying to find a photo of Helen, so are looking for some of the Yates descendants who might know something about this. Thanks

Thanks again for emailing the info.

Noticed your photo contributions to Mary Frances Crumpler Daniel and George Lee Daniel. Are you related to them? They're my maternal grand-parents.
Sincerely, Richard L Berry

I think it all looks good now, maybe not the spouse order but the three husbands no longer have duplicate links.
thanks again, Karyn

The cleaning of gravestones, refinishing bronze markers, and the flower delivery for families that can't be there, is the way we fund the complimentary cleaning of veteran gravestones.
We service a radius of 50 miles of Winston-Salem, NC. We NEVER power wash, sand-blast or use harsh chemicals on any gravestones. In fact, the chemicals and methods we use are recommended both by the National Park Service and the Veteran's Administration. Please review our web page dedicated to this service:
You are welcome to tell others about our service. Thanks.
