RE: Flowers
Find A Grave believes everyone should be remembered equally and have built the site to support common alternative dispositions to traditional burial. This includes cremation, lost or buried at sea, and donated to medical science.

Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days.

I am sorry for your loss.

I said or know nothing about the memorials of your husband and son.

Well I'm with you on that kind of thing. I know for a fact my Isaac White was not at King's Mountain he was in Guilford Co. North Carolina during the war. I have positive proof of that from our bible records and a pass he got when he left there for Tennessee. The DAR took that years ago and the Isaac White who served at King's Mtn ended up in Illinois as I recall. I had DAR contact me here a while back trying to get another one of my family members on the DAR rolls and I told her I wouldn't help with that because our Isaac was not there and didn't want anyone else to join under him because he was the wrong one. Several of us have been trying for years to get that mess they made straightened out.

Thank you for taking the time to obtain and post the photo of the memorial for Levi Carter. I notice that there appears to be a plaque of some sort at the bottom of the monument. Did you happen to notice what was inscribed on it, if anything?
Thanks again.
