|Bio and Links|
OK..so I've been doing Find-a-Grave for a while now and have decided to change my bio a bit.|
Here are my thoughts on this stuff.
Relax..enjoy what you're doing otherwise you should stop before you get too far into it. No man is an island and this certainly can't be done alone. Rather than complain about someone's work...help them with it.
TRANSFERS: In most cases I'll transfer any memorial that isn't listed in my family surnames. I transfer on a case by case decision. I don't have issues with the number of generations. If I've transferred a memorial to you, please be sure you can maintain it or make the changes that others request. If for any reason, you can't maintain the memorials I've transferred to you, I'll be more than happy to take it back. ..please don't ask for a transfer of memorials and then become an inactive member, and have all your memorials go stagnant...TRANSFER THEM BACK OR TRANSFER THEM TO SOMEONE WHO CAN MAINTAIN THEM.
PICTURES: If I've taken a picture or attached a document ... please help yourself...no need to give me credit. I don't need to toot my horn or have it tooted. I've added them to the memorials for everyone to use. If you want to attach a picture to my memorials that are better than mine...please do so. I welcome them, but keep in mind I might use them in Ancestry.com if they're in my family tree....thanks again in advance.
EDITS: If there are errors in any of the memorials that I've entered please let me know. I'll be glad to correct them as well as make any changes necessary. PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON.
FLOWERS: PLEASE PLEASE don't use the flower section as a place to add a bio for the memorial...that isn't where it belongs. If I happen to come across one on a memorial that I've created, I will ask you to remove it. I'll gladly add it to the bio...just send me an EDIT. If it isn't deleted in a timely amount of time I will ask email@example.com to remove it.
DUPLICATES: Duplicates happen...it's impossible not to happen. We've all created duplicates. If you've created a duplicate, please don't ignore the courteous request to delete them. I will gladly delete mine. If you don't delete your duplicate within a reasonable amount of time, I will ask firstname.lastname@example.org to do so.
It's hard for me to understand that these memorials belong to any one person....I believe they belong to "all" of us.
A sincere THANK YOU to all the Find a grave volunteers for all the hard work, help and dedication that you've given me.

Thanks for the obit on Carol Padlo. I see your name quite often. I am photographing all the gravestones at Lakeside. I'd love to be able to meet you. It's such a lonely job and I'd love to meet others who are contributors to Findagrave in this area.

Sure will...and no problem using the picture :-)

Not a problem. Like to see families reunited.

Thank you for the edit on Alice. I was able to track down the birth records of Alice and several of her siblings. Those, together with the obituaries, indicate that most of the siblings in this family were born in Auburn. Thanks!

New photo (actually a cropped version of the original) added. Are you related to Lucy Steward Coleman? She is my first cousin twice removed.
|Charles Willard||Horse Meadow Cemetery - Irwin|
Hi Connie, My name is Charles Willard. I happened across your memorials for the Irwins at the Horse Meadow Cemetery. Thank you for posting them. The Irwin family is my mother's family along with the Wetherbee family. Wesley Hermond Irwin is my Grandfather. I have visited this cemetery on a couple of occasions. I have become the family genealogist and have all the data and history for these families. I have been involved in the FindaGrave thru the VT SAR Society for some time and just recently started my own FindaGRave Memorials. With your permission I world like to add/update the information of several of these family memorials.
Also If you are so inclined, I would like to transfer them to my FindaGrave account. Thank you again.
|Anne ||RE: Mt Pleasant in ST J VT|
Thank you for the link. I am familiar with that website though. I think a lot of their listing for Mt Pleasant have come from the find a grave page.
Right now my concentration has been to get all of my listings from my photos at least added to the site. I spent about a week there photographing the entire cemetery. My theory is that at least the names gets added faster than if I finished all aspects of the memorial at this time. A lot of time my less than stellar internet makes even that time consuming. When there is an inquiry or a photo request I then go out of my way to link all family add photos and any other info I find on them.
I also figure it is going to be a long winter...lots of time to go back and tighten them up.

|2ulips||RE: Cleary Folks|
The Cleary family that I am researching is originally from Ste. Catherine, Quebec, about 50 miles north west of Quebec City. That is where Edward L. Cleary was born, the one buried at Mt. Pleasant. His great grandson is a police officer in St. Johnsbury. Edward's parents are James Cleary b c 1820 Co Monaghan, Ireland and Ann Darmody b 23 Apr 1824 in Quebec City, m 1845 in St. Catherine. There were 12 children including a Michael and a John. My wife is a descendant of John b 1847. This line ended up in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I do not know where Michael ended up other than to say he was on the 1881 Canadian census. Edward L., mentioned above, was married in Northumberland, Coos Co, NH, Lula Mabel Bass, his wife, was from born in Stratford, Coos Co. If you wish you may forward my email address to your friend, they can contact me directly. I've been researching the Cleary family for 30+ years. 2ulips at (@) rogers dot(.) com - maybe there is a connection. 2ulips (aka Olav H. den Ouden)

Thank you very, very much for taking the photograph of the Cleary cemetery marker at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury. This will be a nice addition to the Cleary genealogy work that I am doing. -- 2ulips
