Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have gone around a lot of Caledonia County of Vermont photographing entire cemeteries. I am in the process of transcribing all of the photos and will post names that are not already on the site.
But, as I live in the world of "not much better than dial-up internet", it will be at the most basic level. (ie, not linking family members). The volume is just too high, and internet too slow. I will, however, do my best to keep up with any requests made.

John Harriman
Thank you for the pictures. The name on the memorial should be John Alexander Harriman with a birth year of 1821 and a death year of 1904.

RE: Eldad Root Lyndon Ctr

I think you are correct on katie belden being catherine belden root - the dates align properly with catherine belden root's record of death in Burke vt.

Thank you so much.

RE: John B. Brooks & wives, St. Jay
Charles E. ("Charley") was indeed son of John B. Brooks. His wife Nettie Galbraith was his step-sister; her mother was Mary Elizabeth Chase (1st marriage), who married (2) his father John. I spent most of the night trying to figure this out, but the key is the 1880 census, where Mary Chase joins John Brooks's household along with 3 Galbraith stepchildren, among them Nettie. Can't see the rest of your message from this screen, but 4-5 of Charley's children ended up in Bethlehem, NH, where I live, and several married Huntoons here. I photographed some of their stones yesterday (still to edit and upload), and then started trying to work out the ancestral line. I'm a one-name researcher of Brooks families descending from New England founders. One of "Charley"'s grandchildren, also Charley, lives near me, and his wife and I have been sporadically trying to work out his ancestry for probably 15 years. The line goes back to John B., whom I strongly suspect (despite census reports) is Canadian, not New England, by birth.

RE: Eldad Root Lyndon Ctr
Thank you anne

One Huge favor.

I am trying to locate any information I can to link Eldad Root's brother Roswell back to his parents - moses root and Lavinia Alexander.

I believe Roswell Root was born in Lydon and he and his wife catherine belden are supposedly buried in woodmont cemetery in Burke per find a grave but there are no pictures or details.

I need this link to submit Moses Root as a patriot to the Sons of the American Revolution - he was a minuteman from Northfield and fought at tgi battle of Bunker Hill.

Moses father in law Captain Thomas Alexander also from Northfield lead an expedition against Quebec and was in Morristown, NJ in December 1776 as part of General George Washington's army when it crossed the Deleware.

Any assistance you can provide to locate their graves or other information on Roswell and Catherine would be greatly appreciated. I do have the death record on Catherine from the town of Burke that I found online.

Thank you and have a grant day.

RE: Bertha L Clifford/Burbank
That is so nice of you--so far every single Burbank in that cemetery is related to me--2nd cousin to be sure--but still :) I am trying my best to link all the Burbanks together so it would be a help to me for sure!

Betty Jean Ayer Sweeney
Hi Anne,
I did see both memorials and thought it was strange she wasn't buried with her husband and son, that is why I request the photo request on the other memorial. Her death certificate doesn't indicate where she is buried, just that she was cremated. Although I never met Betty Jean, she is my 2nd cousin once removed. I was going to send a message to Charles Swasey, but see you have already.
Thank you so much for trying to fulfill my photo request.
Have a nice day,

STONE stones in Saint Elizabeths Cemetery

Wow! That was quick! Thank you for taking the gravestone photos of Albert & Madeline Stone. Albert's brother, Fred, is buried over here in Maine at Togus National Cemetery. I just fulfilled his gravestone photo request and did some research.

My kids have ancestors buried in Lyndon Center Cemetery (LaBay) that I have visited, but I am not familiar with the Catholic Cemeteries in the area.

I have tentatively placed Albert's father and grandfather in this cemetery... but I can't find them in any listings. Albert's brother, John M. Stone, died in Lyndon in 1886, so it is most likely they are all buried in Saint Elizabeths, even though they died in nearby towns.

Sincerely, Tim Cooper

WOW!! One day, just one day after I requested this photo you not only fulfilled this one but in doing so have given me more information about my family. I know VERY limited information about his life and I think I have discovered, through your postings, that he was either married after my great-great grandmother or her name was not what I thought. And if my gggrandmother is Dezette, I now have more generations to look into.

I just can't even tell you enough...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!
