Bio and Links
Bio Photo I retired from the Army of 21 years and I love to study and visit Civil / Revolutionary War Battlefields and visit the generals gravesites who served during those periods. Thanks to Find a Grave I am able to plan my trips accordingly. I also like helping those who cannot visit their family members in person by taking pictures for them in the area in which I live. If at any time someone is in disagreement with the pictures I have posted on a memorial page please let me know and I will remove them. Also if you have more information to post to a memorial I have created, send it to me and I'll add it or I'll transfer the memorial page. Photos taken by me for Find A Grave may be considered public domain and you are most welcome to use them.

Hi, Mike,

I can't tell you how surprised I was to come across my Uncle Al's grave marker on the site. I haven't been down to Atlanta in years.

Would it be possible for you to post a picture of my grandparent's grave as well (or email one to me)? It's the one right next to Uncle Al's...Albert F. and Ursula Miller. My grandfather was an Immigration Officer and then served as Secret Service for Roosevelt and Truman.

Thanks again, Mike. It was really nice to see my Uncle's name.

Kind regards,
Nadine F. Ostrowski

RE: William Edward Franklin
Thanks for the offer to transfer but he appears to not be the William E. Franklin that was my great grandfather's brother. I'm still looking - My Wm. E. doesn't appear to be at findagrave yet. Regards, Margie

Chalmette National Cemetery
Hi Mike

I am trying to locate a gravesite for a local soldier, Evert Traver who died at Camp Parapet in February of 1863. It appears that his body was not returned to his home in Rhinebeck, NY.

I think that the soldiers who were buried at the Camp Parapet Cemetery (Shrewsbury) were moved to Chalmette National Cemetery, but he is not listed as a burial on the Find A Grave site.

So, I am wondering is there any location in the cemetery for soldiers who are not identified at all? Or are there other burials that have not yet been entered?

Evert served in the 128th Regiment, NYSV

I am working on display and project of local Civil War veterans. We are focusing on soldiers from whim we have letters written during the war. We have several from Evert. It would be nice to put some of them on a Find A Grave memorial.

Any thoughts or ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks
