Bio and Links
Bio Photo My dad, Harold D. Bryarly, Jr. past in 1996 of cancer. I will never forget the look on my dad's face when I told him his brain tumor was not operable. It broke my heart.

My dad's friend, Steve Stone had been sick for a few years and was afraid to die. If I remember correctly, he had come close to deaths door a few times. He was by my dad's side when he took his last breath. I believe he needed to see that he didn't have to be afriad. He passed 6 months later.

Before my dad's passing, my family never really said I love you or hugged much. We do now. Don't be so sure that someone knows you care or love them, tell them, because one day you or them will be gone. I'm no longer afraid to say I love you. I want my friends and family to know without a doubt.

I began serious searching my family tree shortly after my dad passed. I've met many distant cousins and shared loads of info. It has been awesome. I've helped people with their trees. I'm not a professional genealogist. I find all my info on free sites or libraries. I will help anyone with their tree. I may not be able to give them any new info, but I sure will try.

My motto: "Not everything has to cost something."

I don't take money or material things for the help I provide. I only ask that they pass the kindness around.

I no longer live in LaGrange, IN, so work with memorials is strictly by corrections/additions. Sorry.

RE: Your profile
Hi, Paula,
No, I do not know Mary Ann. I worked for Brandywine Public Schools, which is located between the Niles city limits and the Indiana-Michigan State Line - in other words, south of Niles. However, years ago I did my student teaching through MSU in the Niles system at the ninth grade level, and I enjoyed working in that system. Brandywine was created by collecting the rural one room schools south of Niles into one system. I started teaching in 1957, which was the first year that the newly organized Brandywine system offered education to ninth graders (prior to that the kids were sent into Niles for the rest of their education and graduated, then, from Niles High school. We then started building a high school and in 1959 kept our kids for the 10th grade in the junior high building. In 1961 we moved to the new senior high building, graduating our first class in 1963. The superintendent of the time, Norman Weinheimer, asked me to teach 9th grade English because he was building a high school program, and he wanted the same kind of academic English as that taught in the Niles system - with the books I was familiar with already. Our first graduating class celebrated 50 years last summer. My, how time flies!

RE: Casy Newell Brooks
Hi, Paula,
As a former public school teacher who used to substitute in later years in the junior-senior high school, I understand exactly what you mean. I was always substituting for someone who was SICK! The schools are a hotbed of germs and the kids bring everything home! My father survived the flu epidemic of 1919/1920, and it was interesting to me that the only people who weren't sick (and so came to cook and run his trap line) were both sets of grandparents - the only ones who didn't have children of their own in school!

Hi, Paula,
Hope you are feeling better! No one likes to be sick! I run when someone sneezes in my direction!
