One Final Gift

Scatter me not to restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by....
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times....
The family ties we shared
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who come to see....
A single lasting proof that says
I loved....and you loved me.
by D. J. Kramer

Find A Grave volunteers have connected me
to family, and I count it a privilege
to help others connect with family or friends.

It saddens me when a there is no headstone
or it's broken and illegible. I guess that's why
I like the poem....everyone needs to be remembered.

Sayles & Waldron & Kellar
Linda, the poem in your bio is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it.

Are you a descendant of Duty Sayles or Clara Kellar Sayles Waldron? I am looking specifically for more information on Clara. I am working on my Kellar family, and although she is not my direct line (her younger brother Lloyd is)I am still trying to fill in all the blank spots for missing info on the extended family.

If you have any information that may help please feel free to message or email me.

Thanks, for all you do to help get these pics up to make it possible for others to find their loved ones, bless you!

(ps...Speaking of pics,I am trying to find it, but I have a family photo taken of the family of Charles and Hannah Kellar. It was taken outdoors at what looks like some sort of reunion? Anyhow, I believe Clara is in it, but, I have misplaced it. Rather, my kids have.)

Marcella Purdom
Hi Linda,

I kept digging and found out that the name James Marcella Purdom appears in the Florida death index. But the index doesn't report gender in this case. I have two appearances on federal census counts for Marcella, and both times the person is listed as a woman.

Thanks for the update

RE: Memorial in Saint Johns - Buffalo, NY
You're very welcome. I'm glad all turned out well and I thank you too for your prompt attention to the matter. St. John the Baptist in Alden is a beautiful resting place. If you ever need a memorial photograph from there just leave me a message. Kathi

Memorial in Saint Johns - Buffalo, NY
Greetings,
I've come across the listing for this cemetery in Buffalo, New York. Unfortunately, there is no cemetery by that name in the City of Buffalo itself. I am contacting the contributors of the 20 memorials listed in the incorrect cemetery in hopes of getting it deleted once they are all moved to the correct resting place. The memorial you maintain in this cemetery is for Norbert Gassman. In reading the bio, the correct St. John's may be Saint John the Baptist in Alden, New York. Since you have also uploaded a photo, it should be fairly easy to determine the correct cemetery. If you know the street name or any other details where you were when you took the photograph, I'd be happy to help figure out where you were if you need assistance. Please feel free to contact me or advise me when the memorial is removed from a "fictitious" cemetery. Kathi

R.E."Gene" Turner - Memorial# 16788568
Linda, you don't manage this grave, but it's my grandmommy's brother, and i don't recognize the person on the gravestone photograph you added.....can you please tell me if you intended that photo, for another memorial and need to take it off of there and put it where you originally intended it to be placed? or is that "James, Jr." someone that you know is somehow connected correctly to the grave of my Uncle Gene Turner Memorial# 16788568? Ironically, Gene did have a son named "James Turner", but he didn't die until around 2005 or so....so that 1986 death date stone photograph doesn't seem to be possible to be "Gene's son James Turner"...but I've not been to the grave, so could you please check this page and let me know whether this photo of "this stone" that you added, is correct, or if you needed to erase it from there and put it where you need it on the correct person's page?..I figured I would ask you, rather than the person who manages, to give you a chance to claim that photo and put it where you originally meant to put it, rather than the page manager just erasing it, if it was placed on Gene's page by mistake.....thank you so much ~ susie
