I have spoken to the Poughkeepsie Journal (owned by Gannett Publications), who referred me back to their newspaper where is stated that all obituaries, pictures and information MAY be used by the reader in whatever way they wish, including reproduction for reposting electronically in part or whole for publishing. With this in mind it is my notification that I do have permission to post the obituaries I have placed on memorials and ask that they remain.
I am currently working on putting together a book to include the over 2,000 obituaries I have located for family members with indexing and cross-referencing. This project will probably take up most of my next few months, but I will still be posting here on Findagrave as I discover new family members. Anyone interested in copy of this book can contact me at my e-mail address. Since it is looking to be a large book, I may split into two parts: men and women.
I have been researching my family tree for about 30 years now, and just started really going through graveyards looking for family members about 20 years ago. I have found more information on the internet in the short time I have been researching here than in all the time I spent in libraries, courthouses, and town halls. I will be taking pictures of gravestones of as many people as I can and adding to local cemeteries and findagrave.com over the summer and fall of 2015. If anyone has a family member, that I have added to this site, to yourself (who is not a direct family member for myself) please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you. I'd would rather have family members maintain memorials than a stranger who has no connection, but I feel no burial place should be neglected or forgotten. If there is someone or a graveyard you wish me to find for you in the Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster County areas let me know and I will add it to my travels. My hope is to do a complete census of as many cemeteries as possible over the next few years.
Another note: for old New York newspaper articles you can use Fultonhistory.com. They have papers from the 1700's to 2000's. You can search for family members there.
One more note: I hereby give permission for all to use photos I have posted. I feel that if these are your family you have as much right to add them as I do. You do not need to ask, and I do not require you to attribute them to me, unless you wish too. It is good to find loved ones and I am happy that if I have found yours for you.

Looked the kids up, and they were all Gladys' kids, so did the links on the 4 I manage. Nice you found her. How are things going?

|Erwin de Mooij||Chester D. Perkins|
Dear mister Teater Sr.,
my name is Erwin de Mooij and I am the content webmaster for the 457th Bomb Group Association website.
At this moment I am working on a virtual cemetery/memorial on the website honering all 339 KIA/MIA/KIS of the group.
I saw your picture of Chester D. Perkins grave marker and I was wondering if I could use it for the memorial. If you made any other photos of 457th BG members would I be able to use these too?
We would greatly appreciate it.

|Patricia DeMar Hauver||OK if we add additional photos to your pages?|
Hi Patrick - GREAT work you're doing on here - I've really come to rely on your info (here and on Ancestry.com). I occasionally roam local graveyards and take photos of stones on the chance that they are related (and sometimes create pages here if I don't see them). Do you mind if I post photos to your pages where I may have a more detailed shot of the grave marker? Feel free to remove anything you wish. And thank you for the permission to use your photos - I will definitely do so!
Also, please keep me informed on your book(s) - I will definitely want to purchase them.
Hi. I was interested to see your photo of my great uncle Charles Wesley Viebey. I am the daughter of Vincent J. Viebey. Charles was my grandfather Henry T. Viebey's brother.
|C Yocom||Very grateful for the obituary|
You posted an obituary for Rebecca Phillips Ankers and it has helped me untangle the Phillips families a little better. Thank you so very much.

Could you add a note to these memorials: Their daughter, Grace Pendell Simmons Miller, born 8 Oct 1919, died 23 Oct 2009, Castle Hayne, North Carolina. No cemetery listed in her obituary, Poughkeepsie Journal, 24 Oct 2009

|G. Flanders||William H. Mann obit|
Yes, a transcription would be wonderful. I will gladly add it. Thank you very much.

|G. Flanders||William H. Mann obit|
I want to thank you for the obit you added to William H. Mann # 75017208. I was wondering if there is any way you could redo it so that it is a little darker and more readable. This would be very helpful.
Thank you, Linda and Ginnie
