I decided to join this site after the passing of my grandfather Glen Foster. I was inspired by his work and passion to help others with family history and genealogy research. I was born and raised in South Georgia in Ben Hill and Coffee counties. |
My ancestors on my father's side are Walker, Dixon, Young from South Georgia and Foster and Williams from Cobb County, Georgia. Also from South Georgia are ancestors Vickers, Paulk, Robitzsch, Smiley.
My mother's side ancestors are Wheeler and Dixon from Bacon County, Georgia.

|LeVaughn Williams||Subj: Phoebe Harper, b. 6Apr1885. Mem Rcd # 63367636|
This recorded shows Phoebe as the daughter of Thomas Alfred Harper and Margaret Paulk. The death certificate shows her parents were a Tho Harper and Margaret Paulk.
Thomas Alfred was born 8 May 1889. This Thomas married Frances Clyde Sutton 22 Dec 1921. I could not find a recorded of him marrying a Margaret Paulk.
I did find that a Thomas Harper b. Apr 1857 who did marry a Margaret Paulk, b. 2 Oct 1860. From the census years 1880, 1900 & 1910 they were shown to have a daughter Phoebe [spelled varying ways]. This Thomas is the son of Lewis Leonard Harper and Dicy Whitley. Burial records for this Thomas and Margaret haven't been found yet.
My conclusion is that based upon Thomas Alfred's date of birth he is not the father of Phoebe and I think Thomas b. 1857 is.
My file is on AC.com under the name of "Williams and Related Families".
Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. My direct email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. We did exchange views on another person back in Nov 2013.

I just saw your message on my photo request. I want to thank you for attempting to locate my great grandmother and father. A friend of mine recently visited the cemetery over the weekend and reported the same thing. I believe their graves are unmarked; so sad and disappointing. At least I know they are there - somewhere. Thanks, again, for your time, energy, and effort. God bless you.

Thank you for getting the photo for me. Your time and kindness is appreciated.
I am looking for the grave of Claudia Bernadette Lawrence Williamson. She was a great-granddaughter of Ignatius Foster and Elizabeth Hagood. Her parents were Drury Americus Lawrence and Ida Mae Williams. Her paternal grandparents were James Lawrence and Caroline E. (Carrie) Foster.
