Bio and Links
Bio Photo Some names of interest in my own family line include Lowther, Thistle, Milne, Henderson, Zirkle, Tedrow, Briix, and Blythe, my great-grandparents' names. My husband's family names include Doan, Corder, Dokken, Tangen, Goff, Allen and Peterson. Please send corrections/ updates; I want things to be accurate.

My grandmother, Wanda Zirkle Jilka, and great-aunt, Veda Zirkle Vickery, compiled a book commonly referred to as "The Red Book," "Zirkle Branches 1725-1978, Yesteryears and Yesterdays." There are several copies for sale if anyone is interested. It mainly outlines the history of two Zirkle/Zerkel branches which left VA, went to OH, then settled in Richland, Shawnee Co, KS.

"Life is not separate from death. It only looks that way." Blackfoot Quote

"A Visit to the Gravesite"

Dear Ancestor,
Your Tombstone stands among the rest,
Neglected and alone.
The name and dates are chiseled here,
On polished marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
Though it is too late to mourn.

You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
In flesh and blood and bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago,
I wonder if you could have known,
Would spread among the ones you left
In all the seeds you've sown.
I wonder how you lived and loved?
I wonder if you ever knew?
That someday I would find you in this spot,
And come to visit you?

Beck, I have done as you asked. I did compress the information somewhat, for brevity.

So glad that you and Ken resolved the duplication. The resulting memorial looks great. I notice child connections are o/s, Gerald is pretty fast to respond, usually in the evening.

RE: Relative of Sarah Ann Koppelberger Connally
Just a note to say thank you for your note :)

I did find some more information on line as well as a few books in the library (I work at a University) on Quakers and the American Revolution and history of Pennsylvania.

I find this all so fascinating. And in addition, my husband also has a connection to the Doan family as well. I thin I might have meantioned his Empire Loyalist ancestors.

But he also had Quaker ancestors in England who were transported to Australia for being "trouble makers".

I'm going to check out the books and the Doan group as well.

I'll drop you a line now and then as I progress.
Thanks again.

J B Anderson's Grave - "SS Induna" - Murmansk
Hello - I visited Steward's Boy J B Anderson's grave this morning at the cemetery on the edge of Murmansk and I have uploaded a couple of images for you. He was very young - it was very moving to see his final resting place and headstone. I hope the pictures are helpful.

Nancy Ann Morgan Pierpont
Hi Becky,
Looking today at your record for Nancy Ann Morgan Pierpont (1759-1816). Don't see the name of a cemetery. Can you help me out? Thanks. Mary Frum
