THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY|
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I'm in the process of merging my duplicate Find A Grave Memorial# 144543413 for William A Morse with Find A Grave Memorial# 58813362. I doubt if your "In Memory of a Civil War Veteran" 'flower' will survive. You may want to repost that nice remembrance to Memorial# 58813362.
Thanks, Buddy Leech

Thank you for photographing the final resting place for Emily and Lorenzo. This helps me complete their genealogical information.

Please feel free to use any of my photos. Look me up and I'll provide the info for proper access to the cemetary. There is a much safer and lawful way to gain access...

I am a direct descendant of Thomas and would very much like to have his memorial transferred to me, so that I may maintain it.
Thanking you in advance.

Hello Melissa, I sent you some information today via the Findagrave message service for two people: George Scott - Find A Grave #140115929 and his wife Nellie Allen Slocum Scott - Find A Grave #140116015. I apparently do not have an email provider that would link into your hotmail address, but I will try to send you information by regular email today. Have interesting biographical information for these people, especially Nellie. Hope to hear back from you. Pat Iverson - Find A Grave Contributor #46836677
|David Turnbole||RE: Coons in Hastings Cemetery|
Hastings Cemetery is local to me and I have spent many hours in it. There are some very old stone in one part of that cemetery that can be hard to read and it's possible theirs is one of them. There are others in the area that also volunteer for Find A Grave so if you would like to repost the names perhaps someone could locate them. I couldn't after a fairly extensive search. But I'm certainly not infallible! LOL.

|J Bolek IV||RE: Sadie Ray Stickles Saunders|
Hi! Sarah was my 2nd great aunt. As for your question about Gloria, I tried looking everywhere to find out who she was or how she was related. I wrote her down in my journal so I could go back to her and see if something new pops up.
