I have always been interested in American History, especially the War of 1812 through Reconstruction after the Civil War. I have found many of my own ancestors in lost graves and just want to help others find their pasts and never forget those who came before us.

My family first arrived in Massachusetts and moved to Rhode Island in the 1640's and I have been able to trace their movements to Connecticut, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Illinois.

Chapin infant
Thank you for taking the picture of the Chapin headstone. I've never heard of two families sharing a headstone? Maybe they were related?

It looks like the first one says son of and the Chapin baby says "Dau" for daughter?

Seen your photo request for Sovies and Patience Niles, in Hayes Cemetery, Wayne Twp. Ashtabula County, Ohio. I searched the 19th row and did not find a stone for either person. If they had stones at one time, there is nothing there now...

Grave markers
I want to thank you for taking time out to photograph Mary Rice Ray, Izora Rice, and Harvey J. Rice's grave markers. Mary is my gr.great grandmother, Izora is my great grand aunt, and Harvey is my great grand uncle and Izora's brother. It really means a lot to me to see their markers as I don't know when I could travel to Illinois. Keep up the great work you are doing. Again, thank you. Virginia
