I have added these memorials, mostly from the historic cemeteries of Charleston to memorialize all the individuals who have contributed to Charleston's past.

If I don't respond to a request for transfer it means I prefer to retain the memorial.

In the event a photo of a headstone is not included, it generally means that the memorial information was taken from a cemetery transcription or death record. One of those who did the transcription was Elizabeth C. Curtis. Without her efforts cemeteries such as Trinity United Methodist and Old Third Central Presbyterian Cemetery records would not be included or available since neither of the above church exists today, including the cemetery and headstones. I just found out yesterday January 21, 2010 that internments of Old Third Central Presbyterian Church Cemetery have been moved to Riverview Memorial in Charleston. There are others who did transcriptions, but I am not aware who they are. If someone knows, I would be glad to acknowledge them in this profile.

Some of the headstones at the Circular Church were impossible to read, however the church had previously documented many of the graves sites by plot #'s. In those cases where I could not read the headstone I used the information from the church records found at the Charleston library to identify the headstones. I did list the plots #'s on the majority of the memorials.

A special thanks to the work of Clare Jervey published in 1906 with the transcription of St. Michael's. Her transcription allowed me to include much that was unreadable.

Grave of Daniel Gabriel Wayne
Dear Sir:

Daniel Gabriel Wayne is my ancestor and his memorial is 36642767 in Magnolia Cemetery, South Carolina. I would greatly appreciate it if you would transfer management of that site to me. I admire him very much and wish to post a biography.

With thanks,

David J. Rutledge

Pvt Daniel Colburn
Your information concerning Pvt Daniel Colburn is incorrect. His wife's name was Elizabeth Moulton. His parents were Daniel Colburn and Mary Blodgett. I am very familiar with this family line. Would you please make the corrections to his memorial. He is buried in the Grove Street Cemetery in New Haven CT

RE: Bacot's
Hi John,

You are very welcome. I also just added a photo to your memorial for William Sinclair Bacot and created memorials for Edna Gunn Bacot, Barbara Bacot Zeches, and Richard Francis Zeches, all buried in the same Bacot family plot as John. I'm focused on the Rosedale Cemetery at present, so if you there is anyone else you are looking for there, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Merges aren't actually merges. Please consider a deletion - I've already asked for corrected edit links for the one child linked to yours. Ask the manager of the other to add your fine bio text. For descendants (or the truly interested) to toggle between two dueling memorials for a complete picture is a practice F-A-G should reconsider.

Thanks for your consideration, Philip in NYC
