I've been doing research for 30 years and have over 430,000 people in my database. I'm slowly trying to add what I have to Find-A-Grave. What a great resource! I've collected much information from here and hope I can return the favor.|
I moved near Augusta, GA, in 2011 (after living near Camden, SC, for close to 30 years), have been married for 40 years (yes, to the same man), have two grown children and two absolutely perfect grandchildren. I still work full time and get out to "see dead people" whenever possible. My son tells me I need to get a life.
I work hard to get my information as accurate as possible and am thankful when other contributors do the same. I'm happy to make requested corrections or consider transfers, but please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial. It's easier to manage the emails that way, and it gives me a link to the memorial and your profile if I need to leave a message. If you request a transfer, please tell me the relationship to the person. Thanks!
If you're a visitor to Find A Grave without an account, please don't send a message without including a way to respond. If you don't have an account, then no email address is given in the message I get, nor is there a link to a profile where a public messages can be left, so I have no way to respond.
As far as pictures go, feel free to add what you like to any of my memorials, but remember that unsponsored memorials are limited to five pictures, so please make them worthwhile. And remember, don't post church/cemetery photos on memorials -- they belong on the main cemetery page.

Hi Nancy, I know you have relatives at the Rocky Swamp cemetery..... thought you might be interested and could pass this on:
Thanks to the efforts of the current pastor, an emergency fund of the Methodist Church; headquartered in Columbia, and efforts of concerned people, we are repairing and stabilizing Rocky Swamp Methodist Church, (located on Hwy 4 between Springfield and Neeses) one of the oldest churches in South Carolina. It was founded in the early 1800s.
But we need your help. We are also raising money for a State Historic Marker to be placed at the site of the church and cemetery and ask that those donations can be sent to the Orangeburg County Historical Society c/o Eric Powell, 1421 Middleton St., Orangeburg, S.C. 29116. Even a $10.00 donation would be welcome! Please write “R.S. Church marker” on the check. Thanks!!!
|James Meggs||Chloe Meggs Memorial|
I am the only son of Chloe B. Meggs and Ernest L. Meggs. I ask that you transfer management to me for the memorials you posted,
Edgar H Zimmerman has several books of transcriptions of Reading cemeteries including Gethsemane and St Peter's but I found that he made some incorrect assumptions about the relationship between people.
Several of the parishes in Reading were combined. I believe St Catherine of Siena Church is the caretaker for the cemeteries now. I went to Reading this past summer to search for tombstones in St Mary's Cemetery. When I went to St Catherine's they said to go back on Wednesday to check records at St Mary's office. Their old records were in bad shape and I was told to check with someone at the cemetery for maps. When I went to St Mary's Cemetery the man who was mowing the lawn had lots of rolled up maps of sections of the cemetery in the shed but no map of the entire cemetery. I was only able to find a couple of the tombstones that I was searching for.

|Alexander||Estella Frances Ziemba Madura|
Are you related to Estella ?
Estella is my grandfather's cousin's daughter.
My grandfather emigrated to Denmark. Estella's father and mother went to the United States.
I do not have much information about the Ziemba family.
I have not bin able to find much information from the US of her mother Anastasia Ziemba neé Ciesielski. I have a litle bit more about her dad Francisek (Frank) Ziemba and there children
Best regards from Denmark .

I have been to St Peter's, the old Catholic cemetery, many times. I have never been to the new catholic cemetery Gethsamane. Although my records for St. Peter's gives plot locations I have never seen a section layout map. Therefore, finding a grave is hit or miss there. Many of the stones are unreadable also. My records for Gethsamane also give plot locations for the same person so I can only assume they were moved there by their family. Or one of the two records are simply bogus.
Do you have the layout for Gethsamane? I'd be willing to go there and take a look.

Many of the Resslers appear in records for both cemeteries, I don't know why. Perhaps reinterred. For now, just ignore my messages about their burial.
