Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy spending free time in cemeteries and doing genealogy. I also collect antique books and photographs of all varieties.

These are my main surnames of interest; please contact me to exchange info/photos: Mayville, Diebold, Star[c]k, Walsh, Hurst, Tice, Walter, Emmerich, Hess, Hagemann, Brandmueller, and Liebenow, among many others.

Check out my Brick Walls. Maybe you can help?

-Please credit me if using my photos elsewhere!! This includes Ancestry.com, your personal genealogy page, etc. I don't mind if you use my photos, just please cite your source!

-Please submit any additions, corrections or transfer requests via the "edit" tab on each individual memorial. I add memorials one at a time (not in mass uploads as some do) in an effort to increase accuracy, but no one is perfect.

-I have no problem transferring as long as they are not my family; however, I do not support "memorial collectors." The goal of F-A-G is not to "own" memorials for each member of your family, but to make sure each memorial is as accurate as possible.

My most meaningful work on Find-a-grave are the cemeteries I have fully photographed / transcribed. These cemeteries are special because (in most cases) I am related to many buried there:

-Lawrence/Cady Cemetery (Brown Co., WI 2006-07)
-Saint Louis Catholic Cemetery (Caledonia, WI 2009-10)
-Fairview Cemetery (Greenleaf, WI, 2010)
-St. James Catholic Cemetery (Oak Creek, WI 2010)
-Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery (Westport, WI, 2012)

& the following portions of Resurrection Cemetery in Madison, WI:
Section 1, Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 (2012-13)
Section 2, Blocks 5, 6, & 7 (2014)
Section 3, Blocks 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 31, 32, 33 & 42 (2013-14)
Section 4, Blocks 11, 12, 13, 21 & 22 (2014)
Section 5 (2014)

I have photographed the following but haven't uploaded yet:
Section 2, Blocks 1, 2, 3 & 4 (2015)
Section 6 (2014)
Section 8 (2014)

RE: Photos- Marceline BD
If my calculation is correct, Marceline was born March 2, 1835.

RE: CAVIL, Marceline
OK, here's the story...drove over to Mount Olivet and saw the stake as I drove along the north service road. There is a stone! Looked like someone had dug it out of the ground. Next thing, here comes Ed. Said the ledger and mapping didn't lead him to the direct spot so he was probing (with a shovel) and tossing clumps of dirt and grass in many spots. Was about to give up and tried one last spot. That was Marceline & Robert. It had been completely covered by dirt and grass for Lord knows how long. Nice guy that Ed. Left his stake by the stone because he needs credit too. Will add photos and location in a day or two.

Thanks so much for straightening this memorial out for me - I had the name mixed up with wife's and last name wrong. I must have been half asleep when I did that one. Also thanks for the nice photo.
Blessings, Patsy

RE: CAVIL, Marceline
If the Lawrence Cemetery you are referring to is the same as the "Old Cady" Cemetery, then I've been there are found markers too. In one case, we met with Sara Gauger at her home on Lost Dauphin Road in DePere to look at the mapping. Sara is an older lady and wants to give up the sexton job...but hasn't found any takers. Her gracious help allowed us to locate the grave. She recalled when BAGS asked to see the cemetery records so I know, at least for this particular cemetery, that some of the BAGS entries were found from paper records and not from walking the cemetery. Am heading out, on a real cloudy day, to see what I can find in Mt. Olivet.

RE: CAVIL, Marceline
This is very good! You describe the exact section I walked. The only CAVIL (barely legible) marker I found was in this section but did not contain the given name, Marceline. If it doesn't rain today, I'll go back and see if I can find the stake Ed placed. Yes, Marceline might be in the BAGS file but that doesn't mean a volunteer found a marker. I was on the Board of Directors for BAGS and worked on the transcriptions of these records. Some data was found by walking county cemeteries, some from old cemetery ledger records. Most cemeteries do not keep a record if and when a marker was placed. If Ed had found a marker when he placed the stake, I'd think he would have told you. We'll see though.

Thank you so much for the lovely Stephens marker photo and your attention to detail in notifying me that a stone was actually found.

RE: Marceline Cavil
Sorry for the mistake! I'll be sure to head over soon and try to find her. It might be difficult due to all the damage on the older side of the cemetery. A lot of graves are sunken so far into the ground they are barely visible.

RE: Baby Johnson
Hi, Jade. Barbara called the cemetery and confirmed there is no marker but forgot to ask for the new plot info. She will talk to Fritz (the mother) to see if she wants to name the baby before she has a marker made. I'll remove the request and resubmit after it's in place.

Thanks for your help in this.
