Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been involved in geneology for a little over 20 years. Both of my grandmothers kept everything they could and I was lucky to receive all the books, images, and heirlooms from my mother and father's sides of the family.

I am the County Keeper for Sampson Co. NC, so if you have any questions or need any information on a cemetery in Sampson Co, (Clinton, Roseboro, Garland, Newton Grove, Turkey etc.) please let me know.

Advice.....If you are photographing a headstone for someone or for yourself, take a look at the cemetery homepage first and see if there is a picture for the cemetery and if it has been mapped yet. If not, go ahead and snap a picture and get an exact location of the cemetery so that it can be added if its not already there. You and your entire family may know where the John Doe Cemetery is in Smith County, but no one else will.

**Any pictures I have on here or may be used by anyone.

Garland Cemetery
Hey Lee,hope you are well.

I need some help in distinguishing the "Garland Cemetery" and the "Garland Community Cemetery" in Sampson County.

Are they next to each other? The directions given for them are so similar.

I came across the "Sampson County Cemetery Index".
It was surveyed by Bradley West and published in 2004. I would think he had been to the cemeteries to verify the listings.

Some of the memorials in "Garland Cemetery" on find-a-grave should be in "Garland Community Cemetery".

Some one has even added a "Garland Cemetery" in Bladen County on find-a-grave.

I'm asking because I want to add memorials, but some are already listed in the wrong cemetery, according to the "Sampson County Cemetery Index".

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

James W. White
Lee, thanks ever so much for the editing of James W. White and his sister, Minnie White Williams, in the White Cemetery, near Roseboro. They and their father have a headstone, but evidently their mother does not. She was Eliza F. Draughon White. Thanks again. Larry Draughon

Lucas (Henry) Cemetery
Thanks for the picture of the Henry Lucas marker. Do you know if there are any other graves in that patch of woods? I hope to find others in his family - thanks. Charles Thomas

RE: Thelma Crumpler
She was the daughter of Nebraska and Maggie Rena Crumpler. You had written me a message, a while back, telling me she is not buried with her parents. I have no idea where she is buried then.

The reason why I thought she was buried there is because my Aunt Bonnie told me about her. I looked her up and found that she died as a small child. My Aunt Bonnie was her sister.
