As a lifetime history buff, and having lived near some old cemeteries, it is only "natural" that the two are now combined.
I've catalogued all the Confederate fallen in the Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery in Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va. I will soon publish a roster/book with these findings and short bios/service records of these men. A copy will be presented to the Spotsylvania Courthouse Museum.
Also, I'm in the process of doing the same for the Confederate fallen and veterans in the Fredericksburg Confederate and City cemeteries.

As Historian of the above cemeteries, please feel free to inquire of any Confederate burials.
Also, I give tours of each.

The Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County Battlefields National Park Service refers Confederate burial inquiries to me.

Please include source(s) for ALL edits. Too many times incorrect edits have been submitted, so I rarely accept non-email edits. THANKS for understanding--

Welford Embrey
Big French, How sure are you that Welford's parents were henry and Louise? I had his parents as Strother and Mary, but after seeing your entry on find a grave I think you may be correct, but now can't figure out where Strother fits into the family. Can you help?

George Franklin Elrod
I'm so sorry to learn that there's no grave or marker for him. His brother , William Boyd Elrod, is buried in the Confederate Cemetery in Savannah. He died in a hospital shortly after being injured in the battle of Gettysburg. He is one of the very few who were identified. A picture of his headstone is shown on his Find A Grave Memorial page.

Another of his brothers who fought in the Civil War (although not in Gettysburg) was Andrew Elrod. He's buried in the Dry Pond Methodist Church Cemetery in Jackson/Banks County, Georgia. He was my Great Grandfather.

A brother, Isaac, fought as well . He's supposedly buried in the Old Dry Pond cemetery, which is near the church.

RE: Mr & Mrs Eberenz
Thanks for reminding me about the other two. I just changed the photo for Anna and John Eberenz. Let me know how it looks. I live my life on my iPad so they always look straight for some reason. Jane

Andrew Jackson Wood
Hi BigFrench, I usually research edits too before adding or linking to verify. I knew he married Elsby Wood, sometimes spelled Else as on their marriage record, March 2, 1854, Paline, Virginia. This document indicates parents are Richard and Elizabeth so I researcher further. Andrew was born in Paline, Virginia and she in Floyd County Virginia which was probably before WV statehood. this record gives her parents as John and Lydia Wood. So I did find out his mother was indeed Elizabeth 'Betsy' DeHart who died in 1838 and then his father married Lucy Via. So you were right in questioning my links as I have now corrected them to link Andrew Jackson to Richard and Elizabeth. If you would look at the memorial for his mother Elizabeth, her stone indicates names of children..."Jackson" is Andrew Jackson. following is link to AJ's marriage record

Memorial #30499009 served in the 22nd VA Inf.
His brother Gidney, mem #23433642 served in the 72nd Ill. Inf.
His eldest son, Clarence Lamar, served in the 193rd NY Inf. That should have made for an interesting family reunion! Sorry I didn't read your home page sooner. I used the edit tab for Charles. JWB
