Anthony Golding
In his will [see South Carolina, Wills and Probate Records 1670-1980--database in ancestry.com] Reuben Golding, husband of Margaret (Peggy) Griffin, names all of his children. The list is:
Molly Tinsley [Mary (Molly) Golding]
Anthony Foster Golding
Nancy Golding [now deceased]
Reuben Golding [Reuben Griffin Golding]
Elizabeth Overby [married to Nimrod Overby]
Anthony Golding
Richard G Golding [Richard Griffin Golding]
Sally Long [Sarah (Sally) Golding
Lucy Wood [Lucy Golding]
Yes, there is an Anthony Foster Golding AND an Anthony Golding. Why they carry the same name, I don't know--also, I suspect they were twins.
The Tombstone picture in your listing definitely says Anthony Golding, without the "F" between.
I haven't finished figuring this out, but right now, I think that Anthony Golding married Sarah Tinsley, and Anthony Foster Golding [who became a physician], married Caroline Matilda Brown.
There is an 1850 US Census listing for Anthony Golding and Sarah in Pontotoc Co, Miss.
There is an 1850 US Census listing for Anthony F Golding and Caroline M in Laurens District, South Carolina.
There is a findagrave.com listing of Dr Anthony Foster Golding, 1791--13 Feb 1858 Laurens County, SC, buried in the Golding Family Cemetery, Waterloo, Laurens Co, South Carolina. Wife Caroline is not listed.
Isn't genealogy fun? About the time one thinks one knows, everything turns topsy turvy!

Your Bio
When I read your bio I thought I had written this about me. I was born in Houston but moved to Lubbock when I was five. Raised there and when I graduated from Lubbock High School (1964)we moved to Kingsland. Now I live in Montgomery. I wonder if our paths have crossed in the past.

RE: Biggs burial site
Hello Lisa, you are so welcome. It was my pleasure. It saddens me when a headstone isn't placed but like you said, at least he is recorded. Have a great weekend. Virginia

My great grandmother was Beulah Thomasson Stinnett. My research shows she is an aunt to James. Are you related?

Mary Jane Beaird Price
Hi, I am researching my maternal grand mothers family. Her name was Jennie M Beaird, I think that Mary Jane Beaird Price was her aunt, her father was Ulysses Grant Beaird and from research done by my Uncle Mary Jane was his sister. I see you posted a photo of Mary Jane, it looks like it was part of a family photo do you have the complete photo? If you have the complete photo could you possibly email it to me? Thanks, Tom McCoy

Stiles Cemetery
Lisa,
I came across a message you left about the Stiles Cemetery in Thrall, TX. One of my daughters is married to a Stiles whose ancesters lived on their ranch there. Before the town was named Thrall after a Methodist minister, the site was known as Stiles Switch due to a RR depot stop on the Stiles Ranch.
Who is your relative buried in the Stiles Cemetery? I don't know if the cemetery is located on land still owned by the Stiles family. I might be able to find out more information about it.

Best regards,
Kathy Armstrong

Cemetery Access
Lisa, i live in Missouri and i know here it is state law to allow family access to cemeteries on private land. in fact here they are not allowed to block roads, install locked gates unless hours are posted and they must remain unlocked during those hours. i would check Texas law too. i hope its the same!

Access to cemeteries
Lisa, google Texas Cemetery Laws and it will bring up a lot of resources to answer questions about access to cemeteries on private property. They actually cannot refuse but they can require certain set hours for access or even require you to set up an appointment for access. However, I do not believe they are allowed to forbid access. These are usually governed by the County level jurisdiction laws. I have a friend who has helped co-wright laws into legislation on these types of issues for the State of Texas. She as well has been honored by the Texas State Senate for the work she has done for the preservation of our cemeteries and the upkeep for them. I have an Aunt and Uncle buried in Stiles, Texas. Possibly a different location but there is not much there. I am still scratching my head wondering why they were buried there in the first place. They actually lived outside of Big Spring, Texas. I hope on your next visit the cemetery will be cleaned up. I find it very disgraceful for land owners to allow these historical landmarks to deteriorate the way some do. I just wanted to give you a lead on what your rights are. Hopes for a better world of respect for our deceased, Lester (#47859148).
