I remember listening to my parents, their siblings, in-laws and Grandparents talking when everyone came to visit about people long gone. I knew they meant something to them but they were just faceless names to me.
Then in the early 1970's, a thick three ring binder showed up filled with the names of my father's side of the family (Vernon) and my interest was piqued. It went back to three English brothers who came to America with William Penn and in among all those long ago names was a couple pages with mine on them and I felt important.
It took me a long time to realize just how important I was to the idea of maintaining that family history and many others. So in 2000, I began my journey into Genealogy and have found that ALL of us are important to the families that came before us and those who will come after with the research that we do today.

RE: Emma Grace Vernon
Most of my part of the family spell it Layman, but I also have seen both. When you get back to the 1700's it becomes Lehman or Lehmann.

Emma Grace Vernon

Seems we have a little in common. James Vernon's (26961725)daughter Emma (100765290)married my great grandmothers brother, John Martin (11788049), then after his death she married my grandfather, Andrew Layman. My mother was only 5 when her mother dies and she lived with her father's sister most the time. Any information or pictures I do not have would be greatly appreciated. I would be happy to share anything I have.

Thank you,

the above is my ggrandmother's daughter by her 1st marriage to William Horace Clayton. My ggrandmother is Maggie Layman 11763360.

You probably have all this info, but just in case. I have a picture of Martha, would you happen to have one of my ggrandmother?

Thank you for your time and all you do.

Do you have documentation that John Henthorn is buried in the Lowe Cemetery in Wetzel County WV?
We checked the Cemetery but did not find a marker but that may not be unusual since he passed in 1908.
