| Bio and Links | I remember listening to my parents, their siblings, in-laws and Grandparents talking when everyone came to visit about people long gone. I knew they meant something to them but they were just faceless names to me.
Then in the early 1970's, a thick three ring binder showed up filled with the names of my father's side of the family (Vernon) and my interest was piqued. It went back to three English brothers who came to America with William Penn and in among all those long ago names was a couple pages with mine on them and I felt important.
It took me a long time to realize just how important I was to the idea of maintaining that family history and many others. So in 2000, I began my journey into Genealogy and have found that ALL of us are important to the families that came before us and those who will come after with the research that we do today. | |

I'm curious - would you please tell me from where you came up with the middle initial "M" for Thomas. To my knowledge, in all the records I have found to date, along with other Slavens researchers, his middle name was Jefferson. If this is incorrect, I'd like to know so I can change my records. James I just found today was my Great grandfather. His son Herman was my grandfather. Herman had 4 girls, Ann, Marie, Marguerite (my. mom) and Catherine. Herman passed in 1963 when I was 3; I hear he thought I was his little buddy. My mom passed in 1991 Any additional info would be awesome. | | | Michael Donovan
