Bio Photo I have been privileged to have spent nearly 30 years attending births as a Certified Nurse-Midwife. It seems fitting to now spend time participating in the preservation of the markers of those gone before us.

RE: Mrs. J.B. Fletcher
Thank you for the pictures!

The only thing about this I could find was on in the Oneonta Star dated 26 Oct 1953 which detailed how the Ladies Association was formed about 1884. In 1887, meeting minutes mention that one of 25 "board of managers" was Mrs. J. B. Fletcher. Since John and Susan were married in 1885, that means it would have been her. In 1887 they "devoted their time and energy to soliciting donations for a new organ and to raising money to buy carpets, pews, memorial windows, etc for the new church which had just been completed...". "This they did by means of strawberry and ice cream festivals, New Year's dinners...". This seems to indicate that the window was put there during this time frame and not at some later point. Also mentioned in the article -- the treasurer for the Ladies Association was Mattie Fletcher (Martha Louise Fletcher), John's sister, who would marry Charles K. Lauren in 1892. My mother Martha was named for her great aunt Mattie.

Thanks again for the pictures and for prompting me to discover this little tidbit of information about Susan!

Merry Christmas!

I added the parents to Emeline but your edit also said you wanted to delete the husband so I am declining that as he is specifically mentioned in the obit , I think it may just be another Find A Grave glitch

Memorial #161728261
The death date you entered on this memorial does not match the headstone nor the other records I have on her. I just visited this grave today. She must have been a remarkable woman. She lost her husband and three of her children in 1863 and 1864 but went on to raise her remaining children by working as a seamstress. Her maiden name was Hunt but I have not yet identified her parents.
