Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Carytown section of Richmond, Virginia, USA, one time capital of the Confederate States of America. I grave the area of New Jersey to Georgia, mainly looking for family burials.

My main interest in Find-A-Grave is that I want all of my kin represented, monument photography and portraits where available, and properly linked to their own. About 50% of the graves I've posted are my own kin. And sure, sometimes in these cemeteries I'll see neglected or damaged or sinking markers, so I tidy them up, take a picture and post it, feeling like I might be their last best chance to be remembered to some future researcher. And it's a good feeling that I've stood at most of the graves I've posted, paid my respects. And I have complete respect for gravers who post from obits, because we learn more from obits than gravestones will ever tell us. We all have the same goal, working for posterity, and I think this data base has become the number one stop for researchers, and all because we archive.

I'm a U.S. Navy veteran, Vietnam era, duty aboard the USS Canopus AS-34. I raised a family, but lost my wife. I made a career in newspaper production, am now retired, and enjoy volunteer gravestone photography.

Anyone who wants to use my photos may do so, without restrictions. It's all for posterity. They have been posted here for you to use. If you want a transfer, simply ask for it.

Richmond National
Hello Rich, I had asked you sometime ago to get me some pictures of unknown markers in the cemetery. It seems as if I have ran into a problem. It looks like all the pictures I had added to unknown memorials, find a grave is removing them and making them flowers. There is some new guy there that does not like the idea of adding unknown graves, as a matter of fact he told me to remove all unknowns from the Gettysburg national. As you may know Rich there ware over 147,000 unknowns buried in our National cemeteries, I will not however give up on adding on them. I get hundreds of emails from people thanking me for what I do. What I would like is a nice photo where unknown makers are, but not showing the "Unknown" on the marker. Thank you very kindly, Ted

RE: Tarver's at Linwood
Thanks for the permission to take some time off. I'm seeing little dinosaurs, chipmunks and squirrels.

A million thanks!
Rich,
First off, I thank you for your service to our country! Next, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to take pictures and post memorials for all the people you see at the cemeteries. I would have never found my Grandmother's cousin & husband if not for you. (Delilah B. Cheatham and Tom Cheatham). His name is misspelled on his tombstone, that's why I couldn't find it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Rich,

Thank you SO much for your help. I am not familiar with the Virginia cemeteries at all and I had no idea I had selected a duplicate cemetery for my ancestor. I greatly appreciate your assistance pointing that out. I have moved this soldier to the correct Oakwood Cemetery (thanks for giving me the number of memorials - that was a huge help!) and I double checked to make certain he was not already listed (he wasn't).

I think I notice your name on photos sometimes when I am working out of one of my local cemeteries (Rose Hill in Macon, Georgia) - thanks for all your hard work on Find-A-Grave.

Pinson Family in Dallas Co AL
I see you are seeking two photos of Pinson in Childers Chapel Cem in Dallas Co, AL. I've been to that cemetery several times over the years. My wife has an ancestor buried there. It is outside of Selma, AL which I go to 4 times a month on business. I'll be by there Friday and will swing by to see if the graves can be found and photograph them for you. It is a very well maintained cemetery.

Rich:

Two beautifully rendered photos of Henry's marker and of Richmond National. Thanks so much for the time and effort you invested to produce these stunning shots on the 150th Anniversary of his death. I love them!

RE: Wild Willie ~ Linwood Cemetery
Thanks, Rich. It's always a pleasure to help a fellow graver - or others who just need some assistance. You are among my "favoritest" folks.

RE: Mount Gazerine Baptist Church Cemetery ~
Please add them if you desire. I have been busy with some other projects so I have not done Findagrave in 5 years or more.
