I must confess that I am a Genealogy addict for which there is no cure. Much to husband's dismay!
In past months I have not had the time for Find A Grave but I hope to get back in to it on a regular basis. With my crazy work schedule there never seems to be enough hours in my day, but I will try to respond to emails and edits as quickly as I can.
Although I have lived in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for almost 40 years my family history runs through many states. Primarily PA, MT, WA, KY, MI, MO, ID, TN, OH, NC, CT AND NY..I seem to be finding "lost" relatives in new states all of the time.
It is not my intention to amass large numbers of memorials. My desire is to create accurate, lasting tributes and to be able to aid family members and loved ones now and in years to come who may be doing genealogical research.
I am not a 'stickler' for the guidelines as they are only guidelines. I do not "own" the memorials that I create, unless I am directly related to them. If someone was near and dear to you and you would like the memorial, please ask.
If you see any mistakes in my postings, please let me know and I'll be sure to make the appropriate corrections.
John Wesley Eckman I have been researching my family tree and found what I believe to be an error on John Wesley Eckman's findagrave. I have found a biography of John Walter (not Wesley) Eckman, on which his parents are listed as Baltzer Draucher and Susanna C (Wescott) Eckman. I have also found the same information in the biographical annals of Lancaster Co PA. I do have a John Wesley Eckman in my family tree with this same birth and death date as you have in the findagrave, except my information for John Wesley's parents are Joseph and Mary Ann (Emerick) Eckman. My John Walter Eckman birth date is 7 Mar 1844 and his death date is 8 Oct 1919. John Wesley in my tree has a spouse and child same as you have in findagrave, so the only thing that needs updating i believe would be the parental information you have on him. Can you please look in to this and change if need be. All my sources so far seem legit, but would appreciate a correction. Thank you so much for your time. Linda
Elaine L Myers See you had photo of my cousin Elaine Myers gravestone at Riverview Cemetery in Lancaster. Would like that photo and would like to visit her grave next time I am back in Willow Street to visit my sister. So any help on location of grave and /or photo is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron Cain
RE: Keith Boding edits My father spelled his name Lawrence his whole life, but we found out at his funeral he was actually Laurence. Obviously, Keith's birth certificate holds the answer. Tahoma would likely change their records based on a birth cert, but the VA would probably be a little more paperwork. Thanks for the follow-up.
Keith Boding edits Hi Carolyn. I only have one issue with your edit requests that I want to share with you. Tahoma uses Keith's military documents (primarily his DD214) for things like birth dates and that information is also available thru the VA's website for national cemeteries. Though his placard, when finished, will only give the years, the VA website lists his birth date as the 16th. I'll be approving the edits, but I'm going to leave the birth date as listed with Tahoma and the VA until a correction can be made to those sources. Thanks.
Lillie Stoner Bryson Hi, thanks so much for getting back to me. I just went on to check and the dates now are not identical. I I don't know if I made a mistake or if it was just a coincidence someone other than you changed it. Anyway, problem solved and, yes, I would agree now it may have bee another spouse of Parke. Thank you again so much. You are doing a great service for a lot of people. Keep up the good work Linda
Lillie Stoner Bryson Thanks for getting back to me. If you go to Parke Palmer Bryson and follow the link from there to Lillie Stoner Bryson you will see that Lillie Stoner Bryson's mother's name is Lillie Wall Stoner. If you take notice the birth and death date of both Lillies is exactly the same which is impossible. I have no evidence in my tree about Parke being married to a person by the name of Lillie. His sister Lillie was married to a Newton Dougherty. Thank you. Linda
Carl Family History So glad to see your entries for Lester, Elizabeth and relations. We are descendants of Harry Carl's younger sister, Bertha Carl Rice (# 107539287) and their father, Philip Carl (#1138573773) of Markelsville. We've been searching for what happened to Harry for nearly 50 years!!! Found his death certificate (1939 - sad story...) earlier this week and found his connection (1910 census, in Newport, PA) to Mary Holley (Holly) and son Lester. Have much, old Carl family history. By any chance do you know if Douglas Kent Carl's wife noted, Wand Phillips Carl, is still living? Thank you! Steven Carl Rice
Frank B. Worrell Memorial# 42693769 He is listed as being born in Illinois on the 1900, 1930, 1940 census' and his WW I draft registration. I would say that the informant for the DC was incorrect in saying Lancaster County. As for his burial location, I see that often that men get buried with wife # 1, usually at the request of the children with the first wife.
Hope that you are well and thanks for the corrections.
Lillie Stoner Bryson While doing my research on my family I came across what I believe to be an error. Parke P Bryson, my family member was married to Mary Helen McKitrick. On find a grave he has a second wife Lillie Stoner Bryson. He does have a sister Lillie, but not with the same death date. When you pull up the link To Lillie Stoner Bryson it takes you to her find a grave and if you will take note, her mother is also Lillie with the same birth year. If you could correct this it would be appreciated. Thank you. Linda G
