Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am 50+ years old, and have lived in Gettysburg, PA most of my life. I enjoy computers, painting, and solving puzzles - one of my favorite puzzles is finding missing pieces of information in my genealogy research.

My direct family lines include: Schriver, Cool, Scott, Bream, Brewer, Adams, Dennis, Orndorff. I'm also maintaining a family tree for my husband's family that includes: Hess, Knox, McIntire, Miller, Rebert, McCleaf, Biesecker and Sanders.

In November 2012, I volunteered to be Registrar for the Gettysburg High School Alumni Association. Starting with the first graduates from the class of 1887, our membership has grown to over 18,000 alumni, including over 3,500 who have passed on. It is my hope to honor each deceased alumni with a flower on Find A Grave. As of September 2014, I have flowered over 1400 Alumni memorials.

I will delete the memorials for Walter and Grace Hevner. I am not sure if you noticed that I had them in a cemetery with another name than your memorials have. One might be today's used cemetery name and the other is probably what it was also known as.

The picture has been added to her memorial and the duplicate removed. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

It just dawned on me why I went to Corpus Christi Cemetery years ago. I was trying t make a connection of the Hess family buried here in Chester County at Greenmount Cemetery to the Hess that is buried at Corpus Christi.

My recollection is that Calvin Hess buried at Greenmount was married to Christine Byrne Hess. I believe the story was that Calvin was Hispanic and Christine's family was not very supportive. I have an old email address
of the person who asked me to help. My step-son lived in Chambersburg, and on one of my visits, I spend the time in Corpus Christi.

Take a look at the url above and see if any of that make sense in your Hess line. I believe he also said the surname was sometimes Huss.

Let me know how far off I am...... it's been at least 6 years since that visit.

I have made your changes and taken the liberty of adding the death certificates for them and their daughter. I live in Chester County and just happened to kill a couple hours in that cemetery while visiting. If you would like ownership, let me know. I have no connection to anyone in that cemetery.

RE: Samuel Franklin Swope
There used to be a big reunion back in the 1970s we would always get invited to. I believe it was held in Pennsylvania.

I wonder if you might have any information on this reunion or know anybody who does?

Karen, thanks for the flower. John is my great-grandfather. His family moved to Florida in 1878 from Emporium, Pennsylvania when he was 8 years old. I knew that he graduated from Gettysburg College, but didn't know about the high school. I believe that he had family in the area. His father John Leonard Beers actually fought in the Battle of Gettysburg with the Pennsylvania "Bucktails". If you have a listing of him in the class or any other documents, I would love to get a copy. My e-mail is
