I have been doing genealogy for many years. One of my favorite things in researching is visiting cemeteries. I love to just walk around the tombstones and try to imagine what the people's lives might have been like. I have been contributing tombstone pictures to this site to help fellow genealogists that are a distance away that can't visit their relative's gravesite in person. |
My family has been a big assistance to me in my project for this website. My son, Trenton, my daughter, Alena, and my husband, Terry, have helped me take tombstone photos. So a big "THANKS" goes out to all three of them!!
Quote from Findagrave: "The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. THE ULTIMATE GOAL SHOULD BE TO HAVE MEANINGFUL, ACCURATE MEMORIALS THAT HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY, REGARDLESS OF WHO CREATED THE MEMORIAL OR WHO MAINTAINS IT." Please keep this in mind when you request a transfer as it takes a lot of time and money to do research to add memorials to this site. I love working on this site, but I have run into some problems just recently.
I DO WELCOME ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS AND FAMILY LINKS. The more information the better!! I usually get the updates done within 1 or 2 days.

|JANET (Simmerman) BARNABY||ELLA SMITH DAZEY|
I've submitted her dates to you for editing to the memorial, so all you have to do is erase the photo
Ella Smith wed William Dazey in 1884
her parents are William Smith (1839-1917) and Malinda Harkrider (1843-1917)
she was born in Warren county, IN.
hope this helps
|JANET (Simmerman) BARNABY||DAZEY family|
Well, I think you and I both have the wrong photos on the wrong people....not hard to do when you are working on genealogy, right?!
Ella #28050449 Dazey (b. 3-31-1874) the stone resembles a tree stump...in NEW RICHMOND CEM.
is actually ELLA (LIVINGSTON) DAZEY who was married to CYRUS DAZEY (12-18-1869/ 1898)....
**his dates are on the back side of the stone, his name is large and on the front...
I went today looking for family photos to take, and on my list was
Cyrus Dazey (1838)...which I thought this stone was him, but the dates didn't fit.......so when I came home I have been researching all the rest of the day to figure this out!
please check your photos against this info, and I'll do the same from my end
|Lily Virdell||Thank You|
Dear Lesa, Just wanted you to know, I appreciate the quick attention to the edits I sent. I'ts always rewarding to see memorials with links to parents, spouses, children and siblings. I put in a lot of research to get my facts correct. In this case I'm not at all closely related, but sometimes knowing who is not the exact named person is helpful too and I don't ever want good research to go to waste. Thanks again for all the good work you do on Find A Grave.
Are you related to Hester (Prevo) Yerkes and Sarah Ann (Beers) Prevo?
I wondered since you had photos of some of their descendants.
|Brayden||Effie Lee Dale Rogers|
Hello, I was wondering if you were related to Effie? I'm the great great grandson of one of her brothers and I'm trying to piece together bits of the Dale family for my grandfather and he has vague memories of Effie but remembers the other siblings well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Brayden Kirkham

I am on harbour island, May 24, 2016, We will be on green turtle soon, it looks like you have documented most of the cemetery, if there is something that needs more, let me know, ASAP
I am researching the Joseph Stonebraker family in Montgomery Co IN. I found your memorial on Find A Grave. Do you know if there is actually a tombstone in the Stonebraker Cemetery for Joseph?
Thanks so much,
|Margaret Darley Kirkham||Hannah Compton Young|
The information I have found on Hannah Compton Young doesn't match the grave marker. Hannah is the 2nd wife of Berryman Young.
Married 8 July 1856, Fountain, Indiana.
1860 Census taken in Vermilion, Illinois shows Hannah (age 23) with 4 children (some step-children I would assume). That means she was born about 1837, not 1887. The marker shown for Hannah cannot be the mother--perhaps a child? Or is the submission of the detail (1887) wrong? Please review this and let me know what you think.

Thank you so very much for posting their obits to their memorials for me so promptly!
|Gay Sloan||Mount Hope Cemetery|
Just wanted to send you a great big THANK YOU for all that you do. I was looking again at the Sloan family burials in Mt Hope and realized how many of the memorials here and elsewhere in Fountain county were prepared by you. All are so nicely presented and carry such great links. Your work is greatly appreciated!!
