How I miss my adventures with mom going through the woods and weeds looking for cemetery stones, and in libraries & courthouses thumbing through records together.|

Josiah Warner, one of the respected citizens of Tannersville, died at his home at that place at 4 o'clock Friday morning, after an illness of a year. He had been in failing health for the past some time and death was expected.
Deceased was a successful farmer and business man of Tannersville. He was a member of the Zion Reformed Church and also a member of the Tannersville order of Odd Fellows, being an active worker both in the church and lodge. He was aged 58 years.
His survivors are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Mary Zimmerman, of Wilkes-Barre: Mrs. Howard Rodenbach, of Brodheadsville; Hazel, at the Delaware Water Gap, and Pearl Warner at home, also two sons, Claude and Llewellyn, both at home. Deceased is also survived by one brother, Jeremiah Warner, of Tannersville.The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock at his late residence with services at the Reformed Church and interment in the church cemetery. Rev. J.M. Shellenberger will officiate. Undertaker Gantzhorn is in charge of arrangements.
Stroudsburg Times, Friday, June 28, 1918Josiah Warner, a very well known and highly respected citizen of Tannersville, passed away at his home Friday morning at about 4 o'clock. Mr. Warner had been ill for some time, suffering with cancer of the stomach and for the last few months was confined to his bed, Those who were with him until the end said that he was a most patient sufferer, considering the intense pain he endured. In his early life Mr. Warner was a painter, but in later years he followed farming. He was a member of the Tannersville Reformed church. Mr. Warner is survived by his wife and the following children: Misses Hazel and Pearl Warner, at home; Mrs. Howard Rodenbach, of Brodheadsville; Mary, of Wilkes-Barre, and sons Claude and Llewellyn Warner, at home. Jeremiah Warner, of Tannersville, and Wilson Warner, of Reeders, are brothers of deceased. The late Maurice Warner, Stroudsburg, was a brother of deceaded. Mr. Warner was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Tannersville.it - Thank you. #32897083.
