Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Corley, WV. My adult life has been spent in the northern VA suburbs. My passion for the history of Braxton County and uncovering the genealogy of the families - who were a part of the community that shaped me - is being fanned into flames in my retirement years. I will work to do a walk-through survey of cemeteries in the area to share with FAG viewers.

I appreciate your advising me of additions or corrections. Many thanks.

Marple Cemetery Heaters, WV
Thank you Paula for posting these.

This is my Family's cemetery and I have some corrections. Peggy Marple Wiant was married to Glen Wiant 1905-1985. You have her married to her son Robert K. Wiant 1929-1984.

William E. Marple you have married to Dianna Elizabeth "Betty" Cutlip. They were never married. If you found this info in WV records
a marriage license was applied for but never returned. It must be returned to the Courts by the person performing the ceremony.

Thank you for all your hard work.

Would you please remove the WV death register for Selena. It appears as though she has a headstone and she does not. So if you would be so kind and then after I get the headstone photo fulfilled then you can re add it. Thank you.

John P. Berry's First Wife
Hi, Paula!
I am John P. Berry's great-granddaughter, and I have been doing some research on his first wife (my great-grandmother), Emma Evans Berry. You state in this memorial that her death date and burial are unknown. I have discovered on Find A Grave that she is buried in Fairbury Cemetery in Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska. She died on August 8, 1890. The Find A Grave Memorial number is 110147435 if you want to check it out. Thank you for providing this memorial page!

Date Correction
I am looking at your record of Hanson Cogar in the Braxton Memorial Cemetery. As I look at the birth listed could it be 1865 and not 1885. I know there is a Hanson born in 1865, who is born to Delilah Skidmore Cogar.

John Eubank
Hi Paula,
I posted a picture of John Eubank's gravestone (Flatwoods Cemetery, Braxton Co) that I took back in 2002. Back then the stone was still fairly clear. This stone is next to his wife Perlina (Wade) Eubank. You have him listed as John Lewis Eubank. Many in the family do use a middle name but his stone and all records only list him as John Eubank.
Thanks Kelly Eubank Nupp
John Eubank was my gg grandfather.

James Martin Hamric
Hi, thank you in advance for the work you do. I would love to get a photo of my grandfather James Martin Hamric's grave. He is buried there with his 3rd wife Columbia Hinkle Hamric.

We did not realize he was so close when we did some ancestry search this year in the Braxton area. Is it possible you might have time to snap a photo for us one day? We have a group of people on this end that I will share with in the Hamric line.

My email: carol.sparks@att.net

My family is all from that area - Carrolls, Shavers, Hamrics, Strickland, Prince, Brock, Wilson, McCue -- all from the Frametown, Otter, Braxton, Flatwoods area.

Would love to hear from you. Thanks!

THE "Linger" graves at the Newville cemetary
My name is Pat Linger McCoy and my father was Claude C. Linger and he is buried at the cemetery in Newville, WVa. I noticed that you added some of the family on Find a Grave. My father was one of 11 children and there seems to be only 7 listed on the listings that you made. I just wanted to bring this to your attention so you you correct the error. You have done a nice job filling in the ones that are there.
The Siblings are
French Elbert
Edith Rachel
William Wirt
Aura Jane
Harrison Clay
Claude C.
Ora May
Amelia June
Leonard
Mary
Samuel Marvin
I do not have birth dates and death dates available.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely
Pat McCoy
