Recently discovered this site while doing research on my own family's geneology. Have always had an interest in cemeteries and history. Would like to do some serious graving with people in Northern California and San Francisco areas.

RE: Sarah E. Childers
Did you see the additional edits I submitted via Find-a-Grave's edit tool? I provided links to her parents, place of birth info and a few others. Thanks for your help!

John Parker - transfer of management
Thank you ever so much for the transfer, it was most generous of you. At the moment I'm digging back into the earlier family group in Iowa, and possibly then to have another look in Indiana.

I still intend to do some kind of biography on John and add some records.

Should you decide you'd like to have the memorial back, I would be most happy to return it.

Again, thank you, it is very much appreciated.

RE: Ed & Lottie Newton's Memorials
Thank you so much, Richard. We are in the process of getting photos ready for that family line. We have a few trunks (seriously) more to scan, but they all pertain to that family. Once we adopt those profiles to add more photos, their lives will read like a book. We appreciate your generosity for both finding them and transferring their management.

RE: John R. Parker
Hi Richard,

I've got the two John R. Parker's pretty well separated..

John Ross Parker
29July1879 Nicolaus, Sutter Co.
1Oct1955 Sacramento Co.
mar.15Oct1902 Sacramento Co.
Mary Grace Kelley (1884-1946)

Their marriage ended in divorce. She remarried and is buried at Pleasant Grove Cem. in Sutter Co. He evidently stayed single, is buried north of Sacramento at Fairview Cem., Rio Oso, Sutter Co.

Still compiling records on John Russell Parker...

RE: John Russell Parker
Two John Russell Parker's buried at East Lawn with B & D dates within a few years of each other!! I suspect it has to be John and Mary Parker's son who I have as born in 1910 and died 1981 in San Joaquin County. If it is their son, whoever gave the information must have been as confused and mixed up as I am at the moment.

I'm still scratchin' around for additional information on John Parker and Harriet Elizabeth Jones' children and grandchildren so maybe I'll figure it out eventually.

Your offer to transfer management is REALLY generous of you but maybe I'll ask for a temporary "loan" in the future to add a bio and / or family information and then send the memorial back to you.

For now, please know I appreciate all the trouble you've gone to already and it is truly above and beyond anything I would ever expect.

If I do put some sense to the mess, I'll let you know for sure in hopes of justifying being such a pest. :-))

RE: John Russell Parker
Hi Richard,

Thank you so much for the contact! I've been up to my elbows updating the Parker / Jones lines. They are my granddaughter's lines through my daughter-in-law so are important to our family genealogy.

I've seen the Death Index records you mention and couldn't make sense of it except perhaps two informants gave information and / or the certificate was hard to read so they made two attempts at deciphering and used both for indexing? Who knows what happened?

As far as his birthdate, I went with his 1942 WWII Draft Registration Card with his own directed information which gives July 8, 1879 in Davis Co., Iowa. (And could be someone at the draft board calculated the birth year from the age he gave them.) His occupation was owner of Meredith Fish Company in Sacramento.

I can't and don't even want to attempt to come to a conclusion about what information you should use on the memorial.

Whatever information you use is what it is. :-))

Again, I thank you for your contact as know you are busy doing yeoman's work for genealogy and can't get bogged down on a memorial without more precise information.
