I'm fairly new to this site but am finding myself here more and more lately. This is a great community and a giant help to anyone trying to find relatives or cemeteries.|
My main family names are: Carter, Tavenner, Russell, Sams, Lowder, James, Hearne, Smith, Kuhn, Strickland, Carmichael, Hoover, Williams.
My Mothers side of the family is mainly from Stanly County and Montgomery County, North Carolina.
My Fathers side of the family is mainly from Virginia, and Georgia.
It looks like most of my tree branches are leading back to England, Western European ancestry, with a couple of Irish thrown in for good luck.
If you want me to transfer any of your relative pages to you, or make any edits ... feel free to contact me. I don't mind transferring memorials that are not closely related to me.
Also, if you ever see anything in my memorial pages that doesn't look right, please notify me. I try my best to verify all my info and be as accurate as I can ... but being a mere mortal has it's limitations.
Good luck to everyone, and enjoy the hunt!

I noticed you have posted to Lanes Chapel, Montgomery Co, NC,
I am looking for Marinda "Rinda" Hall Redwine b1827 d1863. Rinda was the wife of James M Redwine b1825 d1899.
I am also looking for John Redwine b1790 d1859. John was the husband of Rebecca Daniel Redwine b1793 d1863.
James & Rebecca are at Lanes Chapel. Would you consider trying to find their stones & photographing them?
Please let me know.

Hi - I'm hoping you can help. I'd love to fill in some of the older generations below with dates and locations and go back a generation or two further, if possible. Also, do you have portraits of any of these people (not just of graves, but done while the person was alive)?

My mistake. I have deleted the duplicate. Thanks for the notice.
|Elaine Wade||Tavvner family|
Hello, I have Tavvners from Virginia in my family tree. I am researching the Washington, D.C./ Alexandria, Fairfax Va. areas. Any Donaldson's in your lineage connected to N.C.? You may e mail me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
|john coggins||RE: Catherine Chandler maiden name|
Thank-you for the reply. I agree regarding death certificates of the children, both Coggin and Chandler. A marriage bond would have tied the knot, so to speak, but none was found (for either marriage).
In 1850, a Jacob Coggins was a 17-year-old laborer on the Joel Reid farm in Rowan Co. That suggests a birth year.
But how is it possible to know that Jacob was deceased in 1858?
|john coggins||Catherine Chandler maiden name|
Can you advise please how it was determined that Catherine Chandler (buried Chandler's Grove UMC, Montgomery Co, NC) had the maiden name Stafford?
Also, how was it determined she first married Jacob W. Coggin who died in 1858?
There is evidence to suggest both of these may be true but it is not conclusive. Help appreciated.

I noticed that there are duplicate memorials for this person which is my great grandmother. The memorial #'s are 85267616 and 37899812. I also noticed that 85267616 is much more compete but the birth date is wrong in the bio. Thank you for your help.

|David Steed||Tabitha Smart Steed|
I am a relative of Sion P. Steed from Montgomery County NC. I saw a photograph of his sister Tabitha Steed Smart on your memorial page. It is a very small digital image. I was wondering if I could trouble you for a larger digital copy of that photograph. I have a large collection of Steed photographs I would like to add it too. I can share those with any and all who are interested. Thanks. David Steed
