Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history since I was a young girl, so I have acquired an extensive amount of documents and photos. And I am delighted Findagrave, has allowed all of us to have a free memorial page for each of our ancestors and has turned it into a valuable genealogical site. I am happy to share and record valuable data and photos on findagrave so they will not be forgotten and hidden in boxes where no one has access to them. So far I have added over 500 photos, and now I see most of them being copied and used in family trees on ancestry.com and other historical databases. Since all of my photos have been cropped—fixed, etc., before being posted, I KNOW that I am the original source, so please give me credit, and I would appreciate a note and even a thank you when you use my data and photos. Also findagrave.com, should be given credit. I want to thank everyone who is dedicated to findagrave and for sharing and giving lots of time and research and money, to this valuable site.

For the most part, I have posted memorials and photos of relatives and ancestors. See my Virtual Cemeteries for my families. Also,I encourage others to add to findagrave, take photos, request photos and honor relatives with memorials.

Please let me know if I've made an error in any part of my postings. I welcome additions and photos you may have I have not had much luck transferring memorials when the new owner isn't interested in "maintaining them." As a true remembrance to loved ones, I will add more photos, stories, obituaries, documents, etc. to memorials as I find them. This is a work in progress.

"The Chosen" Author Unknown
"We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve…. It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen….. So, as a scribe called, I tell the story of my family. It is up to that one called in the next generation to answer the call and take my place in the long line of family storytellers. That is why I do my family genealogy, and that is what calls those young and old to step up and restore the memory or greet those who we had never known before."

I have made many new friends from this great site. People who want to walk around cemeteries are an amazing group. I have many stories about the terrific people and incredible data I have received from people who look at or work on this site. For example, there was question about the death date of an ancestor. Finally, a wonderful person wrote to me about an ancestor's grave site, which had no tombstone, and she asked if I wanted her to post a picture of the "grassy spot." where he was located. My answer was yes and, so she put a flag in the middle of the spot and posted the picture. Then she asked if I wanted a copy of the obituary that she had found. I was elated and after receiving it, I learned why the death dates was questionable. The family left him on the ranch and went on vacation for a month, and when they returned they found he had died on the front porch—so when did he die?

Thank all of you who have added to findagrave, to my memorials and to my genealogical findings. God bless you!

RE: Staffords
Thank you! Yes, George Stafford was my grandfather. One of his sons was Fredrick Stafford, my father. I don't have any pictures of him. And who are you?

Stephen Mitchell
I tried to find Stephen's gravesite in Elmwood Cem today but he's not listed in the city cemetery records. I was able to find his obituary today that states that is where he is buried. There are empty spaces on both sides of Cordelia, but Otto Mitchell purchased her lot in 1938 I think it was. I will try to go to the city and see if I can find out anymore. I will transcribe his obituary for his memorial for you. I am putting a photograph showing the empty spaces on both sides of Cordelia's grave. If I find out he's buried in another location I'll see if it has a stone. Otherwise he may be in an unmarked grave.

Yes, you may use my photos for your family's trees. If you need for me to get more pictures from Salem, it is right down the road from me, and I would be very glad to do so.

Simpson family transfers
Hi Lucy - I've updated the records with the information you provided. I'm not related to the family and thought perhaps you were so I've transferred their records to your care. If you would prefer not to have their records - you can transfer them back to me.

Thank you for doing all that you are doing!

Continue to take care.

- Linda

RE: Wetzels
Hi Lucy,
I am in the process of transferring them to you. I just transferred John Wetzel to you but I found his obituary and add it to his memorial. Now you have some information on him and it has some of the other Wetzels I will be transferring. I hope this helps you figure out where they are in your tree.
