Bio and Links
Bio Photo My interest in Find A Grave began while researching my family history. After creating memorials for my ancestors and extended family, I added information from obituaries in old extant newspapers.

For the past few years my focus has been on taking headstone photos. I am currently playing catch-up, editing and adding pictures I took in 2015 and 2016.

Like you, I am a volunteer. I participate in this labor of love because I believe it's an important part of our history.

I will gladly update any memorial in my care with a sourced request. Simply share a few details about how you know something to be true when you submit an edit (using the edit tabs please).

Inside voices and good manners are very much appreciated.

RE: Margaret Reitz
The 1860 census for Fred and Catherine Fraley list daughter Margaret, age 13. It wasn’t until fall of 2015 when I was able to do research in Eau Claire on her sister Adda that I found her married name in Adda’s obituary. Meant to go to Black River Falls this summer to do research but a cancer diagnosis and chemo kept me at home. I requested Margaret’s death certificate from the Wis. Vital Records, but have not received it yet. I can send info from it when I receive it. Want to say a huge thank you to you for adding Margaret and Charles to Find A Grave – I looked for them last fall and of course had no luck; was delighted to see them when I looked again earlier this month. Thank you so much.

RE: Elaine M Anderson Embretson
First of all, I am a cousin and that is how her name appears in online family trees by closer family on

Regarding "in writing" proof, there is her entry in The Minnesota Birth Index database, a copy of which is online at; the transcription of her entry lists her name as Elaine Marion Anderson. That entry links to a search screen at a web page for The Minnesota Historical Society at this URL:

Let me see if I can copy the transcription for you (see below); or if you rather, let me know and I can email you a jpeg copy.

- Marriage Record (actual record from county book listing - spouse, marriage date)
- Michigan Birth and Death Indices (birth and death dates and places)
- Department of Veteran's Affairs Death Index (birth and death dates)
- Obituary for Gerrit Huizenga (parents names)
- All Federal Census Records, 1900-1940 (spouse, parents' names, supports approximate birth date and place)

RE: Olaf Anderson
Laura - sorry I didn't provide this. The information comes from the Illinois Death Index on ancestry. The link is
But I noticed my edit gives a strange birthplace. The record gives the birthplace as Lund, Sweden. I'm not sure where the name on the edit came from unless my finger slipped on the drop down. He died at the Chicago State Hospital. I'm working on a state hospital project. Chicago State Hospital death records show they died in Norwood Park Township. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I also thank you for all the work you do on findagrave. Many hands working together for the good of all.
