The joy comes when I hear back from relatives of those individuals I have added to Find-A-Grave. Because the majority of my entries are of no relation, I am more than willing to make transfers to your profile. I try to stay within the 4-generation Find-A-Grave guidelines; which are Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-Grandparents. Of course, those are just guidelines, not law and even if you are a 2nd cousin 3x removed, I'll probably transfer. Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for EACH transfer. Please state your relationship to the deceased in the transfer request. And please, after it transfers to you, don't delete it and enter your own. I've worked very hard to document these memorials.
For any corrections or to add other information, please us the "EDIT" tab on the upper right side of the memorial to send the information.
Thank you to Jim Tipton, A.J. Marik, and Russ Dodge for their dedication to this website. Without them, other staff, and most of all -- the volunteers, this site would not be available.
RE: Rachel Staskus #14617303 I had to look up a few things and found that Rachel Oxford Balliet Staskus was Herman Balliet's 2nd wife, her 1st husband. They were married 21 Dec 1940. Still don't know a divorce date. Herman was married 3 times and divorced all 3....not a very good record. Do you happen to know when Rachel and Joseph married? Shirley
Rachel Staskus #14617303 I thought you might want to know the info for Rachel as I tried to make a couple changes. She was first married to Herman Meinhard Balliet in Georgia but they divorced and both remarried. Rachel remarried to Joseph Staskus. Rachel's maiden name was Oxford. Shirley
Walter Wright - Afton Cemetery, Iowa Hello, Walter Wright is my maternal grandfather. I noticed that there is no headstone image, so I'm guessing that there just isn't one. I'm planning a trip to Iowa and would love to visit the cemetery. Do you know about where his plot may be. My grandmother, Mildred Wright, and uncle, Harold Wright were buried there as well and their headstones have images. I'm hoping that they may somewhere near Walter. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Just a note that I've looked up the burial location for Bessie Boronda (as she is listed in the cemetery office records) but could not locate the burial location despite searching for ~30 minutes today. I had to give up due to lack of time today.
The burial location is St. Gabriel section, row 21, space 10.
I'll be going back to Calvary tomorrow morning and will continue searching for the burial location then. I'll ask the helpful office staff for a pointer or two first, this time!
My apologies for the delay in this important task for you.
