Bio Photo My name is
Brian Mensching.

I am into History.
I am a Civil War reenactor with the unit
8th Regimental Illinois Volunteer Cavalry
I have been looking locally for the real members of this unit and have been placing them on F.A.G.

We should never forget those
that came before us.
Find a Grave is a great way to honor them.

Also my friend Nancy Potter was putting her friends and family in with me. May she Rest In Peace.

And to those that have Sponsored my Interments. I, Thank you

Please enter my thrice-great grandfather, William H Chadwick, of the 8th Illinois Cavalry, Company E, on your list. He is buried in the Corning, Nemaha County, Kansas cemetery. I have a picture of him and several of his cohorts at the 50th anniversary celebration of the battle at Gettysburg PA. I downloaded it from the 8thIllinoiscavalry.org site a few years ago but it no longer seems to be available there so I cannot connect my cousin with it. She wants to see the picture. I guess I will have to send her a copy of mine.
Thanks for doing this and for your interest in this Civil War outfit.

Would you add my great great grandfather, Daniel Billings Wilcox (Company B) to your virtual cemetery? He is memorial 79126475 and buried in Pomona, CA. Let me know if your organization would like to know more about him. He served twice in Company B, 8th Ill Cav, for a total of close to 4 years.
