Bio Photo My name is
Brian Mensching.

I am into History.
I am a Civil War reenactor with the unit
8th Regimental Illinois Volunteer Cavalry
I have been looking locally for the real members of this unit and have been placing them on F.A.G.

We should never forget those
that came before us.
Find a Grave is a great way to honor them.

Also my friend Nancy Potter was putting her friends and family in with me. May she Rest In Peace.

And to those that have Sponsored my Interments. I, Thank you

8th Illinois Cavalry
My great great grandfather, Capt. John Allen Kinley was in the 8th Illinois Cavalry, Company K. He was married to Sarah Rogers from Downers Grove, Illinois. Her brother, Francis Aldrich Rogers was also in the 8th, Company E.

Capt. John Allen Kinley is buried in the Spring Lake Cemetery in Aurora, Illinois. He and Sarah have Find A Grave memorials.

Thank you. I was headed down that way. I also added his daughter Ruby's headstone which was right next to him. I always give vets more time and effort.

Rev Allan Fedder at Ridgewood Cemetery
Brian,

I was out at Ridgewood yesterday and on a hunch stopped by the office to check on your long outstanding request for a photo off the marker for the Reverend Allen Fedder. I got the information (Section 26, Lot 49C) and found his grave there. He is next to Marguerite M. Fedder (1913-1998) - whom I'm assuming is his wife. I'll give you an opportunity to build a memorial for her as well. Let me know when you are done and I'll post photos against both Allan and Marguerite. If I don't hear back from you, I'll build Marguerite's and then post. If you build her's, please also update Allan's with burial location information and link them together as spouses.

problem
Fellow Researcher
I have a large problem at Memory Gardens. They are not easy to deal with, and only want to give info to relatives. I think this is the reason that requests for Memory Gardens accrue on the list of requests.
So I will take the pictures but you are going to have to help me out with the following:
1. Please call them and ask for the grave location. Be sure it is for your relative, as they have been known to give out the first name that matches. 847-255-1010
2. Ask if there is a marker.
3. Ask them if they can fax a map showing the location. Skip this if you do not have a fax machine. I only ask so I do not have to go into the office. They know what I am doing to help my peers and do not like it.
4. Fax or email me a note stating that you are a direct relative of the deceased. If I have that in my hand it will make a challenge easier. I was just telling them I was a direct relative but they caught on to that.
5. I am Del Ulreich at 847.308.5432, delulreich@comcast.net, fax 847.398.5432

Greetings--I'm planning two visits to Acacia next week, if you could call them and get the location for your request, I'd be happy to look for you! Their number is 773-625-7800. The full location should include the section name, block number and lot number! Thanks!
