My interest in Find A Grave began while researching my family history. After creating memorials for my ancestors and extended family, I added information from obituaries in old extant newspapers.|
For the past few years my focus has been on taking headstone photos. I am currently playing catch-up, editing and adding pictures I took in 2015 and 2016.
Like you, I am a volunteer. I participate in this labor of love because I believe it's an important part of our history.
I will gladly update any memorial in my care with a sourced request. Simply share a few details about how you know something to be true when you submit an edit (using the edit tabs please).
Inside voices and good manners are very much appreciated.

Hi Laura -
I just tumbled across your request for information, but don't see what edits you are referring to. I don't remember which ones I requested at that time. Could you please send me the specifics? Thanks.
|Carol Comeau||RE: Curtis L Deringer|
I'd like to work on tis a little more. All my records are on ancestry.com. I see now there are 2 Curtis L. Deringers that died in 1940. The one that died in Chicago makes sense if you follow the family in the census records. Curtis's wife is listed as a widow living with her daughter and son in law in 1940 in the Chicago area. In a few weeks I will see my mother in law (the great niece of Curtis) and hopefully she can help me sort this out.

Hi, Laura, Hedwig's maiden name I found on a delayed birth certificate for one of her children, Raymond (Reinhold) Rudolph Schalwin. Confirmed the spelling on several other documents on familysearch. Found the full dates for Reinhold also on fs, death certificate. (I was indexing Ill delayed bc's for FS and found Reinhold and Hedwig here confirming the Scholwin surname spelling.)

|Gina Mooney||RE: Dorothy Small|
Good morning Laura,
I have been researching Helen Oehlberg. Her second husband was David Roehrig. The spelling of the name changed to Rarick due to attempts and phonetically spelling them by different record keepers. I photographed and recorded their grave at Mount Olive. Whenever I add a grave I try to research some history about them.
A US Social security application has the parents of Dorothy Rarick as Helen Oehlberg and David Rarick. It also has her married name of Small listed.
1940 US census has her listed as Dorothy Small married to Frank Small. Her birth certificate lists her birth in Chicago and the Wisconsin Death index lists her death in Elkhorn, Wi.
I hope this helps. Thank you for contacting me. Let me know if I can assist you in any way.
Best regards, Gina Mooney
