RE: Odd Fellows Cemetery in Reno
Ann,

This information needs to be passed on to SMS. He/She maintains these memorials. He/She has them listed in Reno's Odd Fellows Cemetery in Washoe County not Story County which is about 60 miles from Virgina City's Odd Fellows Cemetery where these people are actually buried. Truely there is no Odd Fellows Cemetery in Reno. Most of the people listed in that cemetery are actually buried in the Mountain View Cemetery. The rest are in Virginia City. There are only 21 memorials that have not been corrected still left but the people that maintain them won't fix them.

Good luck,

RE: PFC Jessie Whitlock
Hi Ann, Wonderful job in adding the headstone photos for Jessie Whitlock, I appreciate it very much. I grew up just a half a block from Aultorest Cemetery in Ogden, walking by it daily to school.
In the past few years I have walked most of the cemetery and found his marker just a couple of years ago. Many thanks, Jeff Hall, Layton, Utah.

RE: Odd Fellows Cemetery in Reno
Yes, there is an "Odd Fellows" section but I think people keep getting confused and selecting the Reno cemetery (which is no longer called the "Odd Fellows" either) when they intend the Virginia City Cemetery. It's just a little confusing and I think the "Odd Fellows" for Reno should be removed (or at least noted as being replaced by "Mountain View") and/or someone should create an "Odd Fellows" for Virginia City. I'm glad you got to stop by the cemetery and find the people you were looking for.

RE: Odd Fellows Cemetery in Reno
Ann,

It appears contributors are using this cemetery name to refer to two different locations. One is in Reno. The other is in Virginia City. Since this cemetery is listed as "In Reno", I have to believe it is intended to be the one now called Mountain View Cemetery. The one in Virginia City would be the Virginia City Cemetery. I believe you mentioned that the Smith Mooney family was interred in the Odd Fellows Section of the Virginia City Cemetery. I thought you might like to make the correction to the Smith Mooney family.

Have a nice day and thank you for responding to my inquiry,

Odd Fellows Cemetery in Reno
Hello Ann,

There is a photo request for the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Reno. I was going to fill the request but I can't find the cemetery. I see you provided a photo for a Joseph Harrison Smith (memorial #57861026)at that cemetery so I assume you know where it is. I first thought it might be the Mountain View cemetery but that one is still well maintained and the photo you provided looks like an old un-maintained cemetery. Can you tell me where it is?

Thanks,

Heather (~.~)
