Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Licking Riverside neighborhood of Covington, directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. |
Primarily interested in documenting and researching the history of cemeteries throughout the Ohio River Valley, I enjoy transcribing the Grabinschriften of the Germans who settled here in such large numbers, locating the graves of the Virginia gentry who were instrumental in the development of this region, and tracking down the direct line and the extended cousinage of my own family who were from as far north as Maine and Vermont and as far south as Antigua and Brazil, and who were mostly from the British Isles, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
If requesting additions or corrections to memorials, please use the edit tab to do so. Memorials will be transferred within Find A Grave guidelines and beyond that if it seems appropriate. Thanks for understanding that due to limitations of time I cannot respond to every personal request for genealogical assistance. Good luck in your search!

My grandfather was Seldon Jett. He died in 1969. In Breathitt County Ky. I can not find a grave or an obituary. Do you have any info that would help. Thanks

HI Todd, not sure how to send you a e-mail message
I created a memorial for Letitia, who was buried next to John B, before I lost track of her. the memorial is yours if you want it.

Using records, I have found DR RM Ferguson's marker and will post a pic of it. Neither Maj Henry Crawford or Charles H Crawford have markers, so will post site photos. The one for Charles will be replaced after my next trip to Cave Hill. Charles' grave is just on the other side of the tall monument in the photo added and will be on the left of it after the new photo is added. Henry's grave is to your right of George's monument as you look at the pic. There are six Crawfords buried in a row, from George's monument to your right. Only George and Henry are listed with a first name. Two markers in front are for Leigh & Kate Oldham.

I'll be glad to transfer them--I'll plan to get started on them a little later today.
Have added photos for these Crawfords:
Arthur S (A S on Findagrave)
Edwin (created memorial, it's yours if u want it)
Rosanna (wife of William)
Most of them are over exposed to make them readable.

Thank you, for your gracious comment.
Regarding Dr Richard M Ferguson and Henry & Charles Crawford, I'm going to have to contact the cemetery office about grave locations within the lots.
In the Ferguson lots, any markers which haven't been photo'd and added to Ferguson, Starkey, Drane, or Murrell (probably leaving someone out) memorials are illegible, except for the initials "ALF" on one marker and something similar to "Julia(with another letter and a couple of words after that) on another. They are very faded and the others are worn away.
In the Crawford lots, there doesn't appear to be a monument for either Charles or Henry, although there is an illegible possibility in each lot. There are other Crawfords in both of those lots.
If the office folks can make it in to work tomorrow, I'll get any info available, hopefully.
