I got hook on genealogy after talking to my Grandfather (George E. Deskins) about the "Good Old Days" and how he had a story about everyone and everything. I started by researching only my immediate family but it has escalated to years of research, meeting wonderful people, hearing amazing stories and with much help from other dedicated researchers. After joining FAG it keeps getting better and better.
I hope that all of realize that we all are related and should treat everyone the way we want to be treated.
My main research is on all the Deskin, Deskins and Deskines lines, but I also do Jackson and Matney
This wonderful tool of FAG is out of this world, I want to thank all the fabulous people that have help me in so many ways. I would not of had the opportunity to meet many of my relatives, as well as others if not for FAG. There is no way I can ever thank many of you, researcher before me, people willing to share info as well as photos and their lives.
I would also like to make a point, this is not a genealogical site, but it gives us a wonderful opportunity to connect our relatives, showing really how small our world is, so I hope that some that feel they don't want to transfer for whatever reason and this is your right, perhaps think that MOST of us, do not do it for numbers but because we appreciate the honor of caring for our relatives like I do. When I hear about my relatives even thou I have never met them, it's like knowing them. Hope this makes sense.

RE: Dillon cemetery duplication
You should have all the correct info now. The memorial was set up in the wrong cem. and the photo by Fitzpatrick was placed on the wrong memorial.

RE: Dillon cemetery duplication
If you check the label under the Fitzpatrick photo you will see his photo was taken in the D&P Cem. Problem solved.

RE: Dillon cemetery duplication
Since you have physically been present to the D & P cemetery, are you absolutely positive there are no additional markers for an identical John Dillon in the D & P cemetery except for the one you have photographed?

Windel Baker
Hello, You have Windel Baker attached to Rachel Leah Matney Baker and Ireland Baker... but this is not Their son. Their son, who is also named Windel, is still very much alive. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=81112518

RE: Dillon cemetery duplication
Having myself unintentionally duplicated Find A Grave memorials in the past, I learned from experience and from Find A Grave involvement that the earliest date prevails. This really makes the decision for Find A Grave very simple. Relationships, personal data, etc., have no real bearing on anything. If the originator of the memorial is willing to transfer a memorial, it shall be done (or not), based entirely on the origination date of the memorial.

But rather than turning this into a contest, I would prefer to transfer the memorial to you and be done with it. In this particular case, Robert Strong was the originator of the memorial. As such I feel obligated for him to make the transfer and suggest you pass my email along to him to complete the transfer.

If you do not hear back from him in a few days, please let me and I'll proceed with the transfer transaction.

RE: Dillon cemetery duplication
I don't see the memorial no. for the marker in question. I'd just like to know the name before going further.

Thanks.
