I was introduced to Find a Grave about 2000 by a cousin. Together we tried to add as many members of our family as we possibly could. It wasn't long before my cousin became the subject of his own memorial page. Eventually, I realized that there was more I could do than just search for my own family. So, I began trying to add photos whenever I could. Recently I became involved in a cemetery project in my area. A friend and I began searching through the hills, bushes and briers for long abandoned cemeteries, adding what we find to Find a Grave. |
Find a Grave is a great site for people who are researching their family. We have made it our goal to do whatever we can to make it the very best it can be.

Thank you so much for answering my request for a photo. Carolyn

Thank you so much for the photos of the headstones for Robison and Marvin J. Hughes!
Hi, you have a ? on the site of Kundichunda Rupert. She was living with her daughter Mary Fugett, wife of John Fugett. After her husband and mother died she (Mary) moved with her son and his family to Calf. Kundichunda maiden name was HEMPHLING, Her nickname was Korna and Rupert is spelled with two pp, Ruppert. Thanks Jim
The person blatantly duplicated the memorials I had already entered & she created a new cemetery. The admins did nothing even though they knew she was going to do it. I asked her to work with me she wouldn't. I'm not removing my original entries in the originally created cemetery. I'm sorry you're caught in this.

>> I would appreciate a transfer of any of those in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery that you wouldn't mind transferring.
Feel free to ask for any individual markers that you want.
Since I stood over the stone and took the image, and could also use touch to help interpret it, I would ignore all surveys (books or online) that say otherwise, unless there is an obvious alternate interpretation for the inscription due to wear on the stone.

None of these are related to me, I am in the habit of taking these on bike rides in the boonies. You can have them to edit as you wish, thanks!
Forgot to add to the last message: buried in the Hensley Cemetery at Turkey Gap.

My Grandma had a hand written paper that said Martha and her daughter were buried at Turkey Gap. Her Grandpa was John Luther, Martha's son and she got some papers from him. Is that the location you are talking about? I can just change the cemetery on the page. Have you been to this other location?

I did not put any GPS info on this cemetery and don't even know how to find that as I don't use GPS. I only sent a note to findagrave with the location from old family papers.

Dear Donna: I just saw your artful photograph of the rescued headstone of David Mefford. Well done! Would you fill me in on the circumstances. Do you need assistance with its repair and restoration? Oh, are you a Mefford descendant? With the inscription you provided I backed-off the "60 years, 9 months, and three days" and arrived at 12 Jul 1801 for his date of birth. However, I'd prefer to have someone else check my math. Hope to hear from you soon. All the best...
