I have just started researching my French/Casteel Family history. This has quickly become one of the most exciting and frustrating things I have done in years. To help in my research I took photos of headstones as a way to remember names and dates. Then, thanks to Frank Irons, Sr., he suggested I do this as well. I use to have a lot of other hobbies: Transferring home videos to DVD, sewing, woodworking, and knitting.
All of those other things have quickly gone to the wayside. This is now an addiction. Somebody HELP!!!

RE: Barnabus Cahoom
Hi Rita

I think you are correct about the father of Catherine being Barnabus Van Zandt. I also think that a Felix Van Zandt was a son of Barnabus, although others have him as a son of a Van Zandt who died in Tennessee. Naming patterns and the fact that Barnabus Van Zandt died in Ashe County seem add more evidence that Barnabus is her father. I believe I have seen a picture of his headstone, but don't know where. I would love a downloaded copy if you are able to send me one.

Barnabus "Barney" Calhoun is my great-grandfather.

Thanks very much - Steve Peters

I received your note to add his parents, but instead I am transferring him to you, since he is family.

RE: Amanda E. Nall Stovall

I think they are the same cemetery, but the Mount Zion Baptist Cemetery is the one with a vast majority of headstones, so I guess it would be better to leave mine than try to merge them. There are probably several more like that as well.

RE: Memorial #68003477

I don't see the other duplicate memorial. I looked under Amanda Stovall and Amanda Nall. Can you give me the other memorial number please?
