The first son of the first son of the first son of the first surviving son of John Addison & Martha (Cameron) Swapp, the son of William & Elizabeth (Hill) Swapp, who emigrated separately from Scotland to Canada, both joining the LDS Church near Toronto and settling with the Saints in Nauvoo, Winter Quarters, Honey Creek, Mill Creek, St. George, St. Thomas, Kane County, Luna Valley, and Glendale.

Currently the Swapp Family Historian for the Moapa Valley branch of the family (those descending from Alec & Etta (Hatch) Swapp).
