Bio and Links
I have been researching family history and genealogy for nearly 40 years. In that time I have acquired a great deal of material on all branches of my paternal and maternal lines. I enjoy the search for new details on relatives both living and deceased.
Find A Grave is a great way to "visit" the final resting place for many of the people I have researched.

Greetings, was wondering if somehow you could be related to my family or did you know my sister. Doing family history just wondered if you are somehow related.

RE: Peddlers Grove Cemetery (Dean Milton Pettis)
Dean,
I sent you all of the people in the cemetery I had my name on.
Thank you for the story on the town's and about the Indians!
I love to hear old story's of how the lived and survived so long ago.
It is so sad that no family's came to the rescue of the cemetery until 1970's when it was to late.
I see that also everyone buried there is in the 1880's and around then.
Did the family's just move on and no one used the cemetery after 1900?
Do you know if any of these people were killed by the Indians in the uprising?
I have read about the fighting and how they hung so many Indians after it was all over.
It is hard to say what brought on the fighting to begin with??
I have read some of the information that is posted on the people. You have done a wonderful job on finding their information. I know that they are looking down from Heaven saying THANK YOU!!
Have a great day,
Julrene

I loved your story on how you found the cemetery in disarray and how you searched for your grandparents!!!
I wish there was a place on the front of the cemetery by the sign on Find A Grave to leave your message!!
I live in Oregon now and so if any of these people you want transferred to you I will be happy to give you all of them.

Harvey Frisco
Gardner Family
Regarding your photo request for Jeffrey Gardner, I will check for his grave marker as soon the snow allows it. Your note says that you think that he is the only Gardner in this cemetery. His parents Harold L. #111529946 and Sharon L. Gardner #125691854 are also buried in this cemetery and are listed in findagrave.com. This last summer I included a picture of their grave marker.
Harvey

P.S. I noticed that Sharon's year of passing has yet to be added to the memorial.

RE: Walter B. COLLINGS
Dean: Glad you could find someone you were looking for.
Here is a little information about Walter's burial.
Section 16 at Fairmount was a county burial section.
The small concrete markers were the only markers the county supplied.
Section 16 was originally just a field of weeds and un-kept, many of the old graves had caved in and the field was left with many low spots.
Sometime in the seventies the section was cleaned up and dirt was hauled in to level it and it was planted in grass, unfortunately many of the original stones got buried in the process.
As the years passed about 10 or 15% of the stones were replaced by families that could afford better markers.
Last year a Find-A-Grave volunteer (reconnectNow) entered the burials for section 16 from the cemetery records.
I then went out and looked for stones that were buried, poking around with a screwdriver and uncovered dozens of them, dozens more graves no marker could be found.
Section 90 at Fairmount is the current County Burial section, unfortunately the county no longer supplies any marker at all.

James Andrew Matthews
Mr. Pettis,
I am researching the father of James Andrew Matthews and noticed that you left flowers on James' findagrave.com site. Would you happen to have any history on my great great grandfather, Andrew Jackson Matthews, who was born Oct 18, 1835 and passed on Nov 18, 1887? He is buried at Tuscumbia, MO. His page shows this info: Find A Grave Memorial# 127113119. You can contact me at pamnotes3399@hotmail.com. I greatly appreciate it.

Claire
Elizabeth Jane Ball - Maude Campbell mother
If the above is a gr-grandmother or other relative, we are distant cousins. EJBall-Campbell was the daughter of William Ball abt 1788-1852 and Anna Beaver abt 1806-before 1900. We call William the elusive William Ball because in census records of his children, the children all think father maybe born in different states. My gr-grandfather was one of his sons, David RP Ball. Born in south central PA, lived his married life in Clearfield, Clearfield County, PA. My mother was a granddaughter. Leave me a msg if you are interested in seeing my research.
