I am documenting burials in the following cemeteries in Hancock County, Ill.: Fountain Green, Hadley, St. Simon (a.k.a. Lincoln or Lincoln Catholic), Majorville, Roberts, Webster, Willis, Wright, Yetter. Also Friendship and Hills Grove in McDonough County, Ill. Links to these cemeteries are located on my homepage.|
I implore Find A Grave members to seek out tombstones which have not been documented. We all have family trees in which there are persons for whom we have no evidence of when or where they died and were buried.
Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines outlined in the "Help with Find A Grave", linked at left, particularly those under the Working With Photos heading:
--Can I add a photo that I found on a different website?
--Someone posted my copyrighted photos! How can I get them removed or get them properly credited?
--I found a photo of a relative on Find A Grave, can I use it?
The above questions and answers are in agreement with standards approved by the National Genealogical Society
Unless otherwise stated by the contributor, no tombstone photographs taken after 1989 are in public domain. If you are creating your own family tree on another website, please respect the copyright of the contributor.
Above all, remember that "We want Find A Grave to remain a place of respect and remembrance, just like a real cemetery."

Thanks for the information!

Thank you, I changed his birth date.

The picture of John Hurst and Mary Ruddell Hurst that you posted is fantastic. He is a brother to my Great Great Grandmother Mary Hurst Dorethy who married Archibald Dorethy. Do you know where you found it. I am trying to find out more about their parents and a sibling named Sarah who also married a Dorethy.

Thank you very much for letting me know about "South" Basco Cemetery.
I have made the correction to Arthur's & Viva's memorial page.
When I created their pages, I was using their newspaper obits that my Grandmother had clipped, which only stated "Basco Cemetery."
Would you be able to add their tombstone photos you sent me to their pages?
Arthur Truman Thurman #104528681.
Viva Wheeler Thurman #104528843.
Arthur is my Grandmother's brother.
Thank You for your time and help,
If you site where you received your information from, then you're not violating copyright. That being said, I found his story quite interesting. It would be really neat if you could add a bit of his bio on the memorial you created for him. That way others who visit his memorial can read about him.
You also could have wrote me a message on my public messaging instead of using one of my memorials edit tab.
Thanks for considering my advice.
