DID YOU SEE WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE LONG LIST OF OPEN REQUESTS AT ST FRANCIS? I AM TRYING TO MOP UP THE FINAL 5-6. WE ARE GETTING FULL COOPERATION FROM THE STAFF. NOW WE WILL TRY TO KEEP THE OPEN INVENTORY, LOW. YOU COULD HELP US IF WHEN YOU POST A REQUEST, YOU CALL THE CEMETERY, GET THE PLOT LOCATION AND POST IT ON THE REQUEST. SAVES US A STEP.

I GOT 10 GRAVE SITES TODAY. JIM GODFREY IS GOING THIS WEEKEND TO SEE IF HE CAN GET A FEW MORE. ONE OF YOUR REQUESTS IS AN UNMARKED GRAVE BUT WE ARE GOING TO GIVE A SECOND LOOK BEFORE WE CLOSE IT.

RE: Joseph Samuel Tarrer III
You bet, it is what I do. Sometimes the V.A.'s engravers of the marble are slow, so then the temporary paper tag status can drag on for a while. Generally there is about a 2 or 3 week delay from posting the paper tag to replacing it with the marble panel. But sometimes it takes longer. I am on top of this; I visit the cemetery generally twice per week to keep up with what is going on. You really needn't post a photo request for the cemetery because I am actively and persistently working the columbarium walls; all four of them. I am on a first name basis with the grounds keeper and with the administrator. You may have noticed that Mr. Tarrer is the first person put into Section E, the fifth section. This Section E probably will take about 1 1/2 years to fill out, at the general death rate that has been observed. There is a sixth section, Section G, and it is the last columbarium Section present on the site. However, there is a drainage wash on the east side of the cemetery and that will be the site of more columbarium walls. I know that preparatory planning has been, and is being done for columbarium expansion. The grounds keeper has been doing a remarkable job with the grass, and the cemetery will be looking beautiful for Memorial Day. LeRoy.

IF YOU CHECK THE OPEN REQUESTS AT ST FRANCIS YOU WILL SEE THEY ARE DECREASING. I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER VOLUNTEER TO HELP ME WITH THE BACKLOG OF 22. IN REVIEWING THE OPEN REQUESTS I FOUND ABOUT 7 WHERE THE PHOTO HAD BEEN TAKEN, POSTED AND THE OPEN REQUEST NEVER CLOSED. I TOOK CARE OF THAT AND NOW THE BACK LOG IS NOT SO SCARY. THE WEATHER IS GETTING HOTTER AND MAY BE HARD TO GET FOLKS OUT TO TAKE PHOTOS. MY WIFE TOLD ME SHE IS NOT GOING TO WONDER THRU CEMETERIES AT 110 DEGREES. I AGREE.
