My favorite things to do are genealogy and scrapbooking. My mother, Lila Ashby Thacker, is currently working on the 7th thick album for 12 different family members with our ancestors' biographies to which I add a scrapbook page with photo for each. I also research our ancestors and add more dates and names. It's a long process but fun. My boyfriend and I had been looking a long time for his grandfather who had left his grandmother with 3 small kids and started another family. One day my boyfriend stumbled on FAG (findagrave.com) and found his long lost grandpa and his picture. It was like a reunion. We emailed the person who entered his info. She turned out to be a relative and we've communicated ever since and gotten close. |

Could you please delete this memorial? There is already a memorial on gravefinders for Michael. Thank you.

Could you tell me who the people are in the Matilda & Isaac Morley Allen family picture you posted on her memorial?

You will note that there are two Memorials for Amy Caroline Layton. The one you have set up @ Find A Grave Memorial# 48004494 with a death date of 25 Mar 1945 and this one @ Find A Grave Memorial# 39173610 with the death date of 25 Mar 1943. She did die in 1943 and if you look at the Headstone closely you will see that it is 1943 and NOT 1945.
These two Memorial need to be combined into one.

So glad to meet you! I'll go to the cemetery myself and check this, but I believe there is only one marked headstone, and that is for Anna Hanshew.
I'll get some pictures of the cemetery for you, but the cemetery has not been kept up for years and it's overgrown. It's in the middle of a field beside the house where I grew up. Tell me a bit about the Vernons and I'll see what I can find out about them locally.
Would you like some pictures of the farmland and houses here? Find A Grave has the cemetery listed as being in Bland but that's not the whole story. It's in Bland COUNTY but it's in a community called Effna. Effna was named after the famous limestone fault that runs through Big Walker Mountain. In it's heyday, Effna boasted a post office, country store, two mills, Liberty Church, a schoolhouse and the limestone quarry. Just west of Effna is Sharon Springs, which was home to Sharon Springs College School, and just to the east is Whackertown.

Hi Rhonda - Just let you know that Delmer Smallwood's death year is 1984 not 1964. When you get a chance if it could be corrected that would be great.

Ackerman made some errors as he went along and Regina is directing me in the correct path.
Hope all is well!
