Bio Photo As a teacher and with a BA in history, genealogy became a natural outflow for learning the past. Learning of ancestors being involved with major historical events have made those historical events become more personal and alive. My wife, son, and I live in historical New England and enjoy the ability to visit many of the historical places of our country's beginnings as well as some of the oldest cemeteries. The photo you see is of my grandfather, Goduise Joseph Lagace, in the 1920's.

My Billings line came up through Hartford, CT, Hatfield, Ma., Sunderland, Ma., Shrewsbury, Vt. Rutland, Vt. I think a whole branch of Nathaniel Billings from Concord Ma were known to have gone up to Me.
I am sure you know the early families of Roger Billings of Boston, William Billings of Stoughton, CT., Richard Billings of Hartford, Ct., and Nathaniel Billings of Concord. All around early to mid 1600's.

This information was taken from cemetery records. Unfortunately I have given the records to the LDS in Mesa AZ.

Asaph Howard
Thank you for pointing out the error. (It must have been another Asaph Howard who married Almira Dunbar.) I have made the correction and added sources for birth, marriage and burial.

The records that I have call the cemetery Orcutt, I entered what I had. Later someone else entered it as Sly Pond. I have never been contacted about resolving the issue.

Hello Peter,

Nice to "meet" you. Thanks for the updates. I was able to confirm her date of birth from the age on the Death Register. Also, it seems that you're indicating that her mother's maiden name is "Sackett?" I used that in her bio but if it's incorrect, let me know.

RE: Howard Transfers
You are welcome.
Plymouth "Burial Record Search" has several
"Howards" that do not have memorials on
Find A Grave. If you are interested here is
the list (all with surname Howard):
All at Vine Hills Cemetery
1) Barbara: int. 4-11-1946 Plot 40 1/2
2) Belle: int. 1884 Plot 69 1/2
3) Charles C.: int. 1893 Plot 69 1/2
4) Chauncey M.: int. 12-23-1891 Plot 539
5) Cynthia T.: int. 11-1-1928 Plot 808
6) Daniel D.: int. 1903 Plot 69 1/2
7) Daniel L: int. 1896 Plot 69 1/2
8) Edith B.: int. 2-10-1948 Plot 594
9) Edna: int. 7-26-1967
10) Elizabeth: int. 9-22-1918 Plot 69 1/2
11) Elizabeth Douglass: int. 5-5-1935 Plot 740
12) Everard F.: int. 7-28-1941 Plot 594
13) Frank: int. 7-5-1932 Plot Poor
(Note on Frank: Plymouth Annual Report has
age at death 82y. from Cardio Renal Disease,
no parents are listed for Frank.
Date of death on the Annual Report is
July 2, 1932 in Plymouth.)
14) George F.: int. 8-31-1943 Plot 40 1/2
15) Glenn: int. 5-30-1998 Plot 594
16) Lucy J.: int. 3-22-1924 Plot 539
17) Maltiah E.: int. 11-24-1924 Plot 594
18) Will: int. 1895 Plot 46

At Manomet Cemetery, Plymouth, MA:
1) Dorothy: int. 4-11-1981 Plot 426
2) Jean: int. 10-23-1980 Plot 426

I have found the interred date on the burial
record search many times to actually be the date of death. Also, I have found gravestones in
Plymouth cemeteries that are not documented
on the burial record search.

Hope this helps with your research.
Have a good day,

RE: Robert Howard
Hi Peter,
Sorry but I don't go to the Brockton cemeteries.
I usually stay in Plymouth.
I have 5 "Howard" memorials:
1) Eleanor (Cobb) Howard 1750-1826
2) Eunice Howard 1788 - 1791
3) Capt. James Howard 1777 - 1818
4) James H. Howard 1807 - 1832
5) Capt. John Howard 1748 - 1788

All are at Burial Hill.

If you would like I will transfer them to you.
(Eunice was actually transferred to me along
with many other memorials from Burial Hill.)

Have a good night,
