Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am always delighted to discover that someone has entered information about my far-flung relatives on Find a Grave. I want to do my part by adding as much as I can about the graves in my part of the world.

I have been researching my family history since 1978. A few of the surnames that I am particularly interested in include: Jewell, Holdridge, Brigham, Palmer, Kathrens, Walker, Hunn, Rebman, Carter, Joslin, Demarest, and many more.

Countries where my ancestors lived include: Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, and France. Some of the states where ancestors have lived include New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, California, Texas, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, Iowa, Arizona, and Hawaii.

If you would like me to transfer a memorial, do not hesitate to ask. I can also remove a photo if you have a better one you would like to replace it with.

Please note: I am happy for anyone to use any photos I post on Find A Grave as long as you give me the courtesy of crediting them to me. Thank you in advance.

Helen M. Jewell (1844-1928)
Good morning. I am interested in learning as much as possible about Mrs. Helen M. Jewell of Bangor, Maine. Thank you for adding a photograph of her grave.

Mrs. Jewell was an accomplished musician in Bangor. Among her many contributions to the community, she was an organist for Bangor's Central Congregational Church for 18 years or more. You'll be interested to know that the church organ she played still exists!

I'm one of the lucky organists who was employed to play this historic organ which was relocated to Iowa City. You may view photographs of the organ added to the Organ Historical Society's database.

Central Church, Bangor

Zion Lutheran Church, Iowa City

I am doing research on the organ, archiving newspaper articles, photographs, books, and more. I found numerous photos of other organists employed at Central Church, but not one of Mrs. Jewell. I am very hopeful that you may have a photograph of Mrs. Jewell that could be scanned and contributed to our archives. If not a photo, perhaps another item.

Thank you so much for your time.

RE: Vivion/Vivian Jewell
I respect your reasoning which is probably correct. Many times, gravestone inscriptions are in error. Since you have a family member with that spelling, I would use the Vivion also.

Thanks for all you do to promote family genealogies.
